Good selection . I used to get Blues and Soul mag and when they broke news of Brass Construction in 1976 (was it ?) . Went out and ordered it on Import. Something else , leading edge Funk never heard anything like it . The 1970s had something new every week . Spent a fortune on records ,all soul , Funk and jazz/Funk . I own 6 of your choices , nice to find out something new too . . Hard to pick out LPs from back then ,so many .Every week there was something outstanding to buy . It was the Golden decade of Funk Ohio Players (saw them live twice in 2 days 1976 in UK ) Skin Tight ? ,the earlier Pain and Pleasure= Ecstasy ? or later Fire , Honey , Contradiction and Angel LPs? Hard choices . AWB Soul Searching another tough call ,that or the White LP . Both are among the best of the 1970s but Soul Searching.... All the tracks were killers ,never skipped . 1970s Funk bands ,saw most of these in the UK . Sly Stone up to 1973 , EW&F until 1982 , Kool & Gang until 1978 and went disco , Parliament, Funkadelic , Brass Construction (1st 2 LPs) , BT Express (1st LP), AWB , Commodores 1st 5 LPs , Rufus , Isley Brothers ,The JB's (all versions of them ) , Fatbacks , Cymande . I couldn't pick from that lot . Esp which Stevie Wonder , that was the hardest call Glad you could .Thanks

Here is a forgotten LP . It was rush released after Brass Construction's smash ,1st Album . Earlier Brass Construction had backed up Mark Radice's Aint nothing but a house party LP . I went straight out and bought it after the Blues and Soul mag revue of it 1976 ish .They edited some of Mark's vocals to give BC a bigger stage . It was so underrated , see what you think .kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5LUonqAhaisnaM

Hey! How’s it going? Thanks for doing this. So many great records! Chuck Brown kicking things off is very cool. Great to see Labelle, Four Tops and D’Angelo. I agree that Soul Searching is the AWB’s best album. Very cool. And “Movin’” is a stone cold classic! Great choice! Sorry, I didn’t see your tag last year, otherwise I’d have been all over it. We need more soul and funk in the VC! Glad to hear that you’re doing well. Take care. Cheers! John

Nice seeing you back and have missed you on the Rachels Ghost TV Show. The VC could definitely use more soul as there isn’t too much out there. All albums shown are fantastic and The Four Tops album shown is an absolute masterpiece. Huge fan of The Tops, and Brass Construction sounds GOOD!!!! take care and be well.

No RSD pickups for me, but I did complete my Pale Jay 12" collection with the new Colemine exclusive reissue of his first EP. He's probably my fave discovery of the year & I love that he's still new enough to make grabbing all his stuff doable.

The record collecting quandary, buy too much that you don’t around having time to listen to,it is real. I have found that I can go later in the day and still find what I want So maybe I need some tattoos to make it big. It’s been awhile since I’ve heard from you, great to see a video.

@@vinylrichie007 Hey, Richie!! Great hearing from you! The Hancock release isn't for everyone. Being a vocalist myself, I really dig it. It isn't pure jazz, but it is a result of great sessions with major talents making serious music. Not just a pop project. Thievery Corporation is amazing!! Heyyy...
