@@user-md8gj7ge2n used it for top water, jiggin, t rigs and everything in between and it handled beautifully. Just make sure you’re pairing it with lightweight rods no matter what power to save yourself some fatigue on the water. Other than it occasionally being a bit more heavy as with some rods, it’s probably the best reel I’ve ever owned.

yes, its normal. if it fits too tightly, it will clogged with minimal dirt or dust

@@DGxxxK1 Thanks for the reply. I sold my Steez A to get a Conquest 2021. JLS sent me an old 2014 version and the reel felt perfect other than the line guide being a bit loose, no looser than other reels though

hi, it is one of the quietest, finest running reel on the market. If there’s a sound to it, there’s something serious wrong there. The drive gear is worn, the lubricant is washed out of the bearings, it may have corroded due to salt water, or it was simply used too roughly.

Never oil a closed bearing because it loses its silence forever. Use the closed bearing as long as possible and then replace it. Only lubricate high speed spool bearings.

@@elonmust7470 Each bearing is a sealed bearing. Even the two spool bearings, anyway. We have decades of experience on the subject, but if you think you’re right, just oil it, we still won’t because we love quiet, delicately working reels.

2020 Metanium is 15% better in performance, but costs 50% more. The Premier is around € 175 and the Metanium is around € 340 in EU shops. If you only want to use one reel and it doesn’t matter the money, its Metanium. From this money you can get a Revo4 Premier for 175 euros for 5-25g baits and a Revo4 STX or Revo4 Ike for 150 euros for 10-40g baits. So a zander and a pike reel come out for 325 euros. I’ve been using Premiere for 3 years and still can handle it, even though I pull vertical lures with it. I also have a 2020 Metanium, it runs smoother than the Abus, but in a real situation there is minimal difference between them. You decide.

@@DGxxxK1, Thank you for your prompt and informative response! Stop your choice on Shimano metanium HG 2020. The only thing that confuses in this model is a plastic endless shaft, along which the eye of the logger moves. But this, apparently, is such a design feature. Still, a metal shaft causes more perception of reliability than a plastic one. Apparently, you just need to accept this as a given.
