​I have 780 hours and plat. It's just an absurd fight. You can't really heal unless you sacrifice massive damage the materia slots are like 2 away from having a legit good healing and magic build. Hopefully by part 3 we will get 24+ materia slots or at least 20 for decent builds instead of sacrificing everything for something else​@@kingkazma3246

It sounds like you aren't using the Genji Glove in your accessory slot, because MP Absorption returns MP based on damage dealt. Genji Glove removes the damage cap so without it most of your spells are probably capping at 9999 damage which is only going to return about 30 MP per spell.

​​@@kingkazma3246Are you using any materia that aren't maxed out? All of mine are. Only other thing I can think of is check that your weapon is fully upgraded too. If you have it set up the same way as me and all materia are maxed, it should work the same.

@@jornado8774 Everything is maxed, I'm just missing most of the Hard Mode Books.

​@@kingkazma3246 If all your mateira is maxed then the only other thing I can think of is reset all your skill points for Cloud and make sure you have all the linked materia slots unlocked. The only reason this wouldnt be working for you is if the materia isnt maxed out (including the wind materia you are linking MP Absorption to) or you dont have all the linked slots unlocked so the blue materia isnt doing what its supposed to. Check it again and let me know.

Theres a few reasons. Spell Blade still deals moderate damage but because it's a synergy skill it's a little faster to execute than going into tactical mode. It also refills some ATB upon usage so you're able to chain several of then together during stagger. It would be hard to use a 2 ATB attack and charge up another 2 ATB during the stagger period. You could do it but would need great timing. I also had to be conservative with my MP so magic was off the table during stagger.

Hey no shame in using Manawall, it's a good spell I just didnt have barrier materia on either of these characters. I do think the summons are a little underpowered in this game that's why I didnt use it here.

@@jornado8774 I agree with you about the Summons in-battle usefulness…It seems like most ppl equip them purely for their various Stat boosts (e.g. Alexander’s Defensive boosts, or Phoenix’s Magic boosts).

I'm filling limit mostly through staggering Sephiroth a lot. You get 33% limit every time you stagger an enemy in this game.

I was pretty much following a youtuber's guide to the letter and their guide didn't use any of those blocking mechanics. This was also pretty early in the game's life cycle to clear hard mode, so there's way better strategies and materia builds to use for it now. But yeah, pretty much just doubled down on the guide I was using.

Yes in general Haste first is the way to go. I used to cast Faith first but I think the ability to boost ATB faster is more useful in the beginning against Odin

I tried out using Faith first in most of the rounds and cleared it in 9:41 today kzbin.info/www/bejne/lWqWdJSLesZmbKs Still got Odin faster here going with Haste but definitely see the appeal going with Faith first to get more magic damage

We got 1 more part left. Safer Sephiroth in Part 3 which will probably be the most OP thing we will ever see

Why does everyone ignore the summon? I use the summon and while it is attacking I’m building my atb dodging, blocking and attacking from afar.

@@briansilva4165That’s what I do. Plus, Odin & all summons give you a free 9,999 attack against him.

Only Rufus was hard for me it took 10 Times to defeat him,while Sephiroth is easy as f***

I did chapter 14 3 times last night just to play with different combinations. I like gotterdamerung on Aerith and Enhanced Expeditinary medal on cloud. Can do 3-4 level 3 limits with cloud having limit siphon. Also get to siphon a bunch of the other fights makes them go fast

Yeah they are definitely trying to expand on the story that the original game told. I'm enjoying it so far, cant wait for the final installment of the remake.
