I suppose this is the same category as 'let's wheel Ollie Reed in drunk whilst we subtly mock him' - with a mixture of Miriam Margolyes' 'let's laugh at the middle aged woman being lascivious'. Maybe Lynne was so drunk she thought people were laughing with her, not at her? The fake congratulatory bouquet at the end...nobody really comes out of this well. I remember watching it at the time (in my early 20s) and felt a little sorry for Ms Perrie. Maybe she thought she was having fun or being progressive or something! This sort of TV is borderline exploitative: like the modern day freak show where people judge and laugh whilst the other person is actively addicted, mentally ill or deluded.

Lynne Perrie - I Will Survive First I was afraid, I was petrified Kept thinking I could never live you without you by my side But then I spent so many nights Thinking how you did me wrong And I grew strong And I knew how to get along So now you're back From outer space I just walked in now To see you with that sad look upon your face I should've shanged that stupid lock I should've made you toss your keys If I'd've known for just one second You were coming back to bother me So go now go, go out the door I can go now I never want you anymore Weren't you the one that tried to make me with your eyes Did I crumble? (Nah-hah!) Did I fall down and die? Oh no, not I, I will survive Oh as long as I can know how... I've got all my love to give I'll survive I will survive (Hey-ey-heyyy!) It took all the strength I had not to fall apart Kept trying to mend the pieces of my broken heart And I spent so many nights thinking how you did me wrong I used to cry I used to hold my head up high But now you seen me now, somebody new I'm not that chained up little person Still in love with you Now you felt like droppin' in Expect me to be free Well I'm saving all my lovin' For someone who's living me Hi hi, now walk out the door Don't come around now You don't welcome anymore Did you the one that think I did me with goodbye Did I crumble? Did I lay down and die? Oh no! Not I, I will survive I've got all my life to live, I know I'll stay alive I've got all my life to live, I've got all my love to live I'll survive Survive I will survi- Survive

Desperately unfashionable at the time, yet they're the band that stuck around for decades. There's probably a lesson in there somewhere.
@emikoyamaguchi97188 күн бұрын
Manics never try to be 'fashionable' such cheap 'trendy' word. Fashionable bands will expire in a couple of years. They wanted to look like Duran Duran or Hanoi Rocks, but sounds like Clash with the same themed political lyrics like Public Enemy.
