The sound cause form the loco. Our DCC decoder is a DCC motor control decoder. It's not a sound decoder.

@@anemodel Hello Thank you for your reply. All my SmartFrogs have a little blue sticker with a V6 printed on it but when I open their plastic boxes I see a V5 on the main board ??? On the other hand the manual ( paper) included in the plastic bag is for V6 version . Would you please clarify this ? I bought them from a DCC shop in England and here in Belgium from my model shop . Thanks for your help

@@Duplex58 Hi, When you seed the plastic box remark it's V6 version, it's the V6 version. So it has the auto-detect frog polarity function. Please see the manual and check how to wiring for this auto-detect function. The best performance in DCC control. If you have any problem, please send the mail to our service mailbox. Probably a nice product but the video sucks. I’m watching the points. Are they moving or is it just editing, one frame moving to the next? I know the objective is to show the polarity changing but the points are distracting. Are the points supposed to be auto aligning or not!?

Sorry but I don't like amount of plastic above ground, and you still require the electronics to operate the servo. So it would be a Thumbs Down from me.

Hi Steve, Thanks your comments. SmartSwitch is a ultimate flexibility product. This plastic motor device just a new parts for SmartSwitch. You also can use original design to connect servo and turnout. Each modeler has his insist to control his layout. We also spend a lot time to install our product into some huge layout to test our product stability. We use this experience to revise our product each time. We hope it can offer more fun to modeler.

On every decoder I've seen, if you put it in the wrong way, all that should happen is the lights won't work. Is the LC201 different?

LC201 follow NMRA DCC standard to produce the connecting pin. So it has the same situation as you said. We don't suggest to connect the wrong side. It's really easy to destroy the decoder components.

Hi David, This loco sound is ESU sound decoder and factory installs into this loco. Someone like the sound and someone don't. It depends on each personal demand. If you just like model railroad operates, I also feel it really doesn't need the sound decoder on the loco. It's easy to make you confuse.

Yes I don't have sound in any of my engines. Haven't found the sound that is real yet. If there is sound in a unit I buy, I take the engine sound down to a point where I can not really hear it unless you really (really - really - really) listen for it.

Very good ! Will this operate on Peco points ? i would like to use Kato or Endo, but it's not available in the UK and too expensive to buy from Japan because of the thieving UK import customs charges !

Of cause. SmartSwitch supports different scale servo control. No matter bigger or smaller servo, it can operate well. If you fell PECO switch point track not so well, you can try to make hand-laid turnout. You can see our channel video for different turnout control.

NIce, but this will not operate 3-way turnouts with two sets of points. In fact, I have never seen a 3-way turnout like the one demonstrated in this video. Is their a prototype example of such a turnout? Looks to be a hobby-only offering to me. Who manufactures it? American modelers are accustomed to 3-way turnouts utilizing two sets of points in line, such as the Walthers/Shinohara offering, which has prototype provenance.

Yes, In usually, normal mail line 3 way turnout need two set servos to control the position. Stub turnout uses in branch line or narrow gauge line. In SmartSwitch, even you use two servos to connect 3 way PECO or Shinohara turnout, just need 1 pcs SDTT (3 pins 3 positions) toggle switch to connect two servos. We will display this function and take a video later.

Thanks for writing back. I confess I was not familiar with the stub turnout used in your video. However, I think it's safe to say that the majority of 3-way switches used in the US by Class 1 railroads were of the 2-sets-of-points variety. Perhaps the title of your KZbin video should clarify that this SmartSwitch feature will work on stub switches only. That said, I look forward to your next video demonstrating using your servos for the Peco and Shinohara 3-way turnouts. I have several of them on my layout and have been thinking about how to use your product to control them. I use four of your servos elsewhere on my layout and they are great.

You Forgot one of the most Important Steps of installing a Decoder.. you didn't even List it in your Comments And that is Putting Kapton Tape in between the Motor and Decoder.. Your Lucky the Motor Didn't short out how you got a A way with it is beyond the level of thought, But I will say this you need to point out EVERY STEP including installing the Kapton Tape, Because not seeing this Done in this Video Viewers are going to Assume you can just Install with out it and when they short out there Engine who are they going to come too, and Pass on there Comments so my suggestion is pull the Video and redo it Leave out the Damn Music and explain every Step..

Hi, thanks your comment. We have adjusted track conductive brass to aviod the short circuit happen. And LC302 also have motor short circuit protect. It's not easy to burned decoder. But I will add this adjustment in this ivdeo later. Thank you.

+anemodel hi i bought the product but couldnt get it work. i can see that you actually solder some parts in instalation. can you actually explain with this video where to solder . do you need any of the copper strings to be isolated ? do you need any isolation for the decoder to work ?

Hi there. I just got a DXDC 5302 sound decoder for QJ steam Locomotive. How do I program the chip for sound? there is noe sound on the chip, and I think you need a specific coder to do it. Do you know how to program the chip? I have a bachmann locomotive No. CSOO110 Loco # 7127. Would appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks. Cheers!
