You unlocked a memory for me. My grandma had a button box and jar. I loved dumping it out and looking at all the buttons. She passed three years ago and now I'm wondering what happened to all those buttons.

I am so very proud of you and your ingenious idea to bias as you go along. You have a new subscriber. You were so down to earth and real. I appreciate all the effort you put into to this hoodie. I now have to look into making one of my own. Your tenacity is second to none. Well Done!!

Honestly people need to step away from using acrylic yarn so much it's worse for the environment. People need to be informed on how sheep shearing really works. There's rarely ever any bad farmers. The sheep that ye hear of not being cheered, are people just having a few sheep not being a full farm of sheep who don't wanna do their due diligence? Or don't understand cheap a lot of people who don't wanna do their due diligence or don't understand cheap. A lot of people don't understand that cheering a sheep doesn't hurt them. You don't need to kill the sheep for the wool it's better for the environment.

It’s not usually done, to iron acrylic yarn. Ironing will “kill” the yarn, making it flat and without stretch, so not suitable for clothes but it will have more drape.

Yeah careful with that.. you can melt it..

Always measure yourself before cutting fabric, even if you've made something recently from the pattern. Like carpenters say, "measure twice, cut once!" Good choice finishing seams! Appreciate your creative choices with no side seams, hidden front placket, a collar you like, and repurposing a tablecloth! You might like a 2-piece collar in future projects. The 'lower' piece gives body and polish (think contrasting fabric). Too bad there's only 4 of those buttons. Good job!

What a bummer that the pattern and instructions are no longer available. It looks like a cute hoodie. If you are estate shopping, keep an eye out for a folding cardboard cutting surface. It makes working on carpet easier. They usually have a blue grid of one-inch squares.

With all the respect, why do you do it's with acrilic yarn? Wet blocking is for natural yarn.

Beautiful job! Just a little tip when steam blocking, Start off at the lowest temperature and gradually increase until it starts to block. Too much heat too soon can ruin your work. Also get a nice soft piece of flannel and keep that between your work and the iron. If the iron touches the yarn it can damage the fibers. Just a couple of little tricks I learned along the way. Happy knitting!
@crimsonscarlett9904Ай бұрын
That’s not really steaming, that’s ironing. For steaming you have to hover the iron above the actual surface of the piece
