I've just done mine. The fluid was black. I'm thinking the reason for the fluid being so dirty is deterioration of the black rubber gasket under the cap. I changed mine and flushed the system.

Thank you for taking the time to share all your helpful How- To videos with the Spyder community. I appreciate it. Can you please tell me if there are only 2 spark plugs? That's what I'm assuming from the video. Should I just hand tighten the spark plugs only? Is hand tightening sufficient? Or after hand tightening them, should I torque the plugs a 1/4 inch turn or not? I'm not sure I don't want to break it. I greatly appreciate the help. Thank you. [2012 CAN Am Spyder Rss]

I noticed in the comments some guys stated that the tension should be set on the ground. I'm reading my 2020 Can-Am RT Limited maintenance manual and it states "drive belt tension..rear end lifted...1050N. " So, the tension wil lbe higher when on the ground. So, check your maintenance manual. Also, the Operater's Manual state that the belt should not be touching the Front Sprocket flanges. Hope that is helpful. Great video explaining the procedure.

If that anti-fog coating was damaged (I wash it with water and soap…..), how to replace it?
@Ruleof2plus1 Жыл бұрын
Rear bearing failure is 100% due to overtight belt. Run the belt a bit loose and you will never have an issue plus the belt will last longer

How did you like the Barnett clutch vs OEM? I just discovered a catastrophic clutch failure (like chunks of metal from the clutch drum) plates on the OEM were warped and blue after only 7000 miles (i bought the bike used, im an old man and dont beat on it, looked well cared for but must have been abused or there was just an issue with the clutch plates as ive only put 1000 of those miles on.)

Mate, if you are still looking at comments on this video I have a question for you please. How do you remove the panel that holds the park brake, heated grips & adjustable suspension switches on a 2014 Spyder RT-L . I was trying to install a USB port and thought it would be easier to remove the panel to make the cut out. I’ve managed to pull the Heated Grips switch out but the wiring to the plug is too short to pull through the hole to reconnect, I’ve removed the 4 plastic push pins but there seems to be something in the middle of the bracket preventing it to be removed. It’s got me stuffed! Request your device please. Kind regards,

Hi you sound Aussie 😊 I have a 2008 Can-am Spyder I live I. The country so long way to nearest town and I’m pretty sure I need to drain the petrol and put fresh petrol in as last time she seemed like she was a bit starved for fuel and I couldn’t risk being stuck in the middle of nowhere I have very low kilometres on her but my my question is would l need to change the whole fuel filter and petrol or what’s your thoughts on just draining the petrol and putting fresh petrol in? She is always garaged and has very low kilometres and I’m not mechanical at all I have tried to look online where to drain the fuel from but no luck so far any chance you have any idea for me please. I’m tired of asking for help around here so I would like to do it myself. Thanks for listening 😊 and yes I’m female if you can’t already tell 😂

Used this video last year on both my RT's to replace rear tires and work out the tension /alignment on the belts...I used the Kritkat and measured tension on both raised up and on the ground ...I used the on ground tension to measure in the final part. About 180 lbs on mine. The alignment I had to monkey with while the back tire was running . then took a drive around the neighborhood and in reverse, still had some adjustment but all ended well. I did notice that the idiot lights needed reset when I first started up but these resolved themselves with the first movements...Thanks for the video!!
