I have skied the Magnum 8.0 ca for 10 years and this remains one of my favorite all time skis. Classic construction and sidewall. Unbelievable durability. Hard to retire these skis as they ski so well and never break down. An all time classic in my opinion. The fabulous reviews of this ski are well warranted.

Could the flax layer go under the carbon fiber? I think it would be slick to keep the carbon as the top layer

In my experience with Voiki skis, I encountered a concerning issue with the reinforced toe edge. Despite the reviewer's claim of durability, my personal skiing at Beaver Creek on regular downhill terrain resulted in the toe edge getting significantly bent out of shape by the end of the day. This unexpected deformation raises serious safety concerns for skiers, and based on my experience, I cannot recommend these skis due to the potential risks they pose on the slopes.

As a mature beginner I've recently bought new boots with a custom foot bed, and they are agony, think of you are stood on a round metal bar the width of a pen or pencil that is just behind your toes in the ball of your foot area, and it digging into your flash, and you'll then know what it feels like. I'm going back to the fitter next week to see if he can fix it. What I do know is I cannot as they currently are wear them as after a day I'd be crippled.

Baqueira is the best ski spot in Europe out of the Alps. In terms of influence, there is not as much Catalan and French as the video suggests, it's rather 90% Spanish, mainly Madrid, Aragonese, Navarran and Basque influence. The fact that Baqueira is closer to Zaragoza or San Sebastian (3.5 hours) than to Barcelona (4 hr.), lets it feel when you're there.

For a sport that has such a minority following, I suspect that future generations will want to understand how resorts are coping with unpredictable conditions. In the '70's the warning was for an approaching Ice Age. Nowadays the doom is for elimination of glaciers from global warming, dressed up as "climate change". Winter is simply a season and as skiers we want snow covered mountains, blue skies and radiant sunshine. We must accept that such days are rare. The resorts that invest in snow making infrastructure are the same resorts which are acutely aware of the fragility that weather has to an entire community. Ski responsibly but don't take the hype from ski/boot/binding makers with anything other that an large dollop of salt. Resorts that invest in snow, will also invest in teachers. Teachers will impart knowledge that presents as technique for student. Coping with the imperfect will result in perhaps being in the right place at the right time so that pure and exhilarating moments can be enjoyed, and maybe, recorded.

Aside for the terrible music, good to know that technology is returning to roots. Are not wooden ski's the foundation depicted in Scandanavian panels? Leather boots next :)
