Dont those bins have a scent? I know when you get a new one you can stick your head in there and smell the petro chemical smell. I wonder if gallon ziplocs transfer that scent onto clothes stored in them.

I kill most of my birds late morning. I have a very long walk to my spot, I’ll walk & call the whole way back, and glass everywhere that’s open.

One difference I do that I don’t understand others, why run the seat through the bottom? I run the seat and lower back portion up behind the shoulder straps and just put the top of seat through the top. Soooo much more comfortable, easier to take apart and therefore quieter. I also use my safety line to wrap the two together. My issue is packing up and sliding the two together. When they meet I hate the clang.

Some of the most comfortable stands ever, but one of the biggest pains in the ass to put together and make it to your tree without running all of the deer off with the clanging.

Wow, tons of comments here, lol. I bought mine man oh man like 6-7 years ago. Although it hasn't been used that much just because there's been kids or older people breaking into vehicles & stealing stuff. From what I've been told, just on our street. Our neighbor's across the street & next door have had their vehicles broken into. I was told, ''Leave at least 1 door unlocked because if all the doors are locked, they've been breaking out the glass in order to gain access inside the vehicle. I've got plenty of 32gb SD Cards so we'll be good there. Since it'll be mounted & left inside the house, I can use a 12 volt power adapter which I just found last week in my computer & other equipment storage room. Hopefully we don't get hit again but if we do, at least we'll be able to [maybe] get a picture good enough that the person/persons can be ID'd. The 1st time we were hit, whomever it was, took 3 to 4 sets of jumper cables & 2 brand new 6 Ton Jack Stands. So far I'm not sure if they got anything else. Strange as this was, the set of cables in the vehicle that my Wife drives, they had to open the hatchback, then lift up the ''Wheel Well - Storage compartment lid, hold it open, then go past all the other valuables in order to get to the cables. Why am I putting this in the comments? Well I've used this unit before. Although it was only used briefly, I was able to get some great video footage, even though it only has a 3mp camera lens. I'll be updating my surveillance cameras with a system that can be connected to our mobile phones. In the business I used to be in before I was retired, we were always running into cameras that were mounted on the outsides of the buildings. Boy, let me tell ya, I've got some really cool cameras that are all quality made mainly by Sony. Take care & thanks for posting this video....

With the included carry straps I hope you dont have to walk more then 90 feet with the damn thing. I have never had 30lbs be so disrespectful to my body ever. I spent 8 years carrying 60lbs + on my back while in the army and this feels like 90lbs even though it's only 30lbs. These included straps are getting cut off as soon as I can find some alice pack straps and figure out how to get them attached well.

I wish my old one had this feature. I do always use the rope they provide to tie the two pieces together but this looks better because the length is set for you.
@robertbrandywine
@robertbrandywine 9 жыл бұрын
You forgot to mention the overhand knot you must tie below the Prussic Knot -- without that, you are going to be in a world of hurt! My main concern is the two pieces of the stand both dropping away from me. I'm now hanging from the tree in the safety harness with no way to get down except jump or try to hug the trunk and climb down.

Summit Viper tree stand is noisy no matter what you do. Actually that's the only problem I really have with it. I don't care how many bungees, tape, padding, burlap wrapped nylon strap tension up and downs I've tried you will end up with a metallic clank at some point each time you use it. mostly while attaching to a tree or carrying it through the woods. Once it's on the tree it's usually fine.

I've gotten rid of the clank. Camo-Form tape, pipe insulation and cover with camo material. Oh, and extra spray foam inside. Be careful that it DOES NOT go up into the cable arms... I'm trying to clear it out of the arms of one now.

Spray doe urine to catch buck ?
@cugir321
@cugir321 3 жыл бұрын
if it's pre rut the buck are with the doe....especially little ones. Don't make it harder then it needs to be. I never worry about my scent and I see deer respond all the time. Pour it on a rag...drag it....hang the string 5 ft off the ground 10 yards in front of your stand....if there's deer in the area it will work. Buck urine is best for pre rut. It creates an angry response......that makes bucks stupid and they are not concerned with your scent. Here's a really good tip.....use a grunt call.....a long and 2 or three short grunts. It get's their attention.....even if they are too far to smell the scent....they will circle around to get the scent then come in. This works fabulous for me.
