This is incredible! Great work!

one of those films plagued by the folly of “interesting plot, bad acting”. The mid-60’s were still liable for the old style of Hollywood acting, overdramatizing simple monologue or dialogue in the Olde Style thespian stage actor’s mannerisms and caricature. Hollywood was still rife with vestiges of the corny 1940’s “trans-Atlantic” acting voice style, and actors who mentored or learned from mentors and teaches and coaches that were still on stage during Vaudeville and Minstrel times. Just poor unrealistic depiction hinging entire roles or even careers on Shakespearean stage acting principles. Just poor.

Who did the sharp-shooting stunts under the tent at that carnival near the beginning? I was told that the lady assistant (Mabel) was the actual assistant for the real sharp-shooter who was doing all the shooting.

Hans Conried was quite the character in real life. I highly recommend reading his biography but unfortunately, it's quite difficult to find.

10/10, this is so good, I love how you spliced together the clips and made it feel real without spoiling too much. And this is also one of my favorite film noir movies. It really tugs at the heartstrings every time I see it.
