Perhaps the best document of him. Pity - he died at 65. In about 15 more years there would be many mood stabilizers developed. Without his advancing bipolar condition he may have lived much longer and achieved God knows what

I knew Stephane was a genius at jazz violin, but I've only just discovered that Sacha Distel was not only a great singer but a terrific jazz guitarist. Such a lovely easy-going style, wow 😍It's a bit like the first time I realised Dudley Moore was not only a very funny actor, but a world class Jazz pianist (and composer). I love Sacha's voice (and his looks if I'm honest), but much like Dudley, I think jazz was his true calling. Both men were triple threats :)

We all interpret music differently and extremely personally. I hear Nellie's strength and commitment to duty. Then I hear the daily routine of most wives and mothers. Sounds like Nellie used to tell him about himself sometimes. I hear forgive and forget and back to doing what she did to help their world go round. In the final ringing notes, I heard that he could get on Nellie's last nerve.
