OK Warren was down in Hawaii roughing it ..down with the poor CIA agents getting kicked out of Latin America...singing a lament for the plight of those poor unfortunate CIA Operatives..but making it sound funny Just like Donald Fagen would do a couple of years later on the Goodbye Look I really have empathy for the poor unfotunate CIA AGENTS whose easy lifes got disturbed How on earth did they survive

Lived there and drove trucks and entering the city with that song and all of that area really put a piece of American in you and the fall of a great place and the last part of the song is incredible.

@Michelle Hansen: If you mean that especially this version is the best version of all... thank you for nothing. Westcoast "tiko-tako" version in real bad quality. Take a look at Sawyer Brown please. Or listen to Chris Hillman with the Desert-Rose-Band.

That’s a great fuckin song but I’m confused why hank Williams is involved 🤷♀️
@elliottkrumnow75633 жыл бұрын
Same, it’s probably just coincidence that he visited hank’s grave the same day and felt like making the song honest.

I believe the story goes that Loudon was filming the movie Big Fish in Montgomery, Alabama, and on a day off he and Steve Buscemi went to visit Hank Williams's grave when they heard the news Mr. Rogers died

Love this version and long may thevwork of Blackwell to remind folk that manners of knobhead garage staff need to exercise the same manners courtesy to the non petrol consumer. I'd plump for several magic tree type fresheners and then depending on the prevailing mood of usually ill mannered idle twat serving get an assortment out only to break it to him I'd forgotten my wallet and he needs to be arsed with putting whatever i asked for back as i walk off much to his or her dismay. There's a lesson for staff of such overpriced crap im 24 garages to exercise basic humility. X🎸👍👍🎤🙏🎵

This modern music's got me confused, To tell you friends I'm quite unenthused. This modern music's got me confused, To tell you friends I'm quite unenthused. I like Pee Wee Hunt or the great Count Basie But can’t make head nor tail of this Dizzy Gillespie With his Oop-pop-a-da Be-a-ba-du-la-be-plee Ple-oobly-oobly-oobly-oobie Chum-cheeree-a-bah Oop-pop-a-dee-de-doom ah-ah! Dizzy Gillespie is the creator Of this new style along in co with Charlie Parker, Coleman Hawkins, Howard McGhee - They all indulge in this monstrosity They take a major seventh and a flated ninth Two ool-ya-koos and a half a pint Then Oop-pop-a-da Be-a-ba-du-la-be-plee Ple-oobly-oobly-oobly-oobie Chum-cheeree-a-bah Oop-pop-a-dee-de-doom ah-ah! The beboppers you see around They all converse in a special tongue "Ool-ya-koo" and "eel-ya-da" One means "hello", the other "ta ta". They call a man "a cat" and a girl "a chick", And they're up to all kinds of shady tricks With their Oop-pop-a-da Be-a-ba-du-la-be-plee Ple-oobly-oobly-oobly-oobie Chum-cheeree-a-bah Oop-pop-a-dee-de-doom ah-ah! In conclusion I must now say The bebop boys they know how to play But that music is not for me So take it back Mr. Gillespie You better take it back to 52nd Street With your high speed riffs and stacatto beats And your Oop-pop-a-da Be-a-ba-du-la-be-plee Ple-oobly-oobly-oobly-oobie Chum-cheeree-a-bah Oop-pop-a-dee-de-doom ah-ah! Ah-ah!
