Oh. My. Gosh. I lost both my parents in 2009. But you've really got me thinking. My mom used to write me notes all the time. About anything. Plus I saved written grocery lists too. I could make a journal from my moms notes and pictures of flowers that she loved so much. She was quite the gardener. She saved seeds which I have. Hmmmmm.......❤

Love the cover. I haven't seen an accordion style journal. Love the hole punch idea So much waste we never think about repurposing. I was thinking about it yesterday even mail 📬 that we discard could be colored? As long as it doesnt have personal info. Or maybe shred it and placing it in watercolors or add acrylic paint. Clever idea about the sandwich bag...

I'd recommend used book sales or thrift stores rather than the dollar store for books for altering. The selection is more eclectic and it's less wasteful than using a new book. (I'm also not a fan of dollar stores from a macroeconomic perspective.)

Traumatised on tearing of books, my heart breaks a little each time I see a rip 😅 Was once a librarian in school so I could never do that to any book. That said, your junk journals are gorgeous and I get why you do this. At least the books are getting a second life, a makeover vs forgotten and trashed for good.

Hi Hun! oh yeah I understand what you’re saying I too value books so much but these were going to go to the trash and I literally save them from the trash if I had donated them to a thrift store they probably would’ve trash them as well. at least I am reusing them and making them into another book so they can have another life as you say so glad you visited me here on this channel happy coloring.
