I wish they kept the original Oldham mumps as a separate track that gets you to Manchester or Rochdale faster. For those that didn't want to go to the Oldham Town centre. Thousands of passengers would have saved valuable minutes. 5-6 minutes. I used to be able to get to the old mumps within 8 minutes. Now it takes 12. If I wanted to go freehold. I would leave the house to walk to the tram station, sit on the tram and get off freehold, all within 12-13 minutes. Now it takes me 12-13 minutes just to get to the new Oldham mumps and then another 8-9 minutes to get to freehold. Wasting so much time. Why did they demolish the original mumps? There was no need. It's not like that whole line would be used for something else. I'll never forgive metrolink for this

These trams actually have a top speed of 50 mph but for some reason their speed has been reduced in this section (due to some works I bet) or it appears slower due to the camera zoom. I think a better alternative to replacing the trains with trams would have been tram-train running (trams sharing the track with trains just like they share space with road vehicles across streets) but its too late now.

It always makes movement appear slower when something is filmed on zoom lens. And I assume this was.

I fail to see the benefits of removing a highspeed train and replacing it with something limited to 30MPH. Pointless and a waste of money.. totally against the tram.. never should of been allowed to happen.

Temporary speed limit to fit in with time needed to be at Victoria, Now new stops added further to Shaw & Crompton ect but no extra time.

That side of the track isn't Metrolink. It is national rail track and is used for freight trains that need to access Dean Lane. (Where the bin-liner trains are loaded). So in this section, trams share the same piece of track going in both directions.
