I was looking for good dip pens for beginners, and the first thing I saw was Takumi's 86 from Inital D and I knew this was gonna be good. Thanks for the review!

Thanks for the review Chris - was exactly what I needed! Also, it’s worth mentioning, as I believe in sharing feedback to others when warranted: you could be a hand model. Your hands are a perfect specimen of the male human hand. I don’t say that in any way other than how it sounded. (I don’t have a hand fetish, and I’m not a weirdo creeper). I believe in positive (and constructive negative) feedback and thought you should know. But surely you’ve been told that before. :))

Is the Saji nib, steel or stainless steel? I love this video and it's very informational to me because I am a beginner at dip pens✒

Very helpful tip! I’ve been filling fountain pens without getting rid of the bubble. I wonder if this is the reason that the ink dries and clogs the pen? Or maybe I’m not using the pen often enough to keep the ink flowing smoothly.

Yep. Even ONLINE STORES ARE LYING about these blocks, saying they are pre-stretched when the company themselves, like Arches, do not advertize that blocks are pre-stretched on this on their own websites.

🔹This is dope! I searched because I boughy mine about a month ago, and am adjusting from fineliners. 🔹 Love Kuwa-chan, but my fav would have to be... Yusuke. I love his development, his edginess and fightet spirit, and the final fight against Shinobu Sensui (...iykyk...). 🔹 The anime the AE86 is from is called Initial D! Underrated 90's anime, just like Kuwabara.

i loved the school G, i for the longest time converted my jonhoa with a G nib, which was a hasle, and then i found this and now i dont need to go through the hassle of altering my existing pens and feeds, and the price aint half bad only £4 for a set

Great idea about putting the first part around the corners! I usually fill part way, let that dry & then do second layer. Making sure no water can go down the side & then sit under your paint! My burnt Sienna did exactly the same thing & feel it’s the nature of the color to be bit thicker.

Yep I also love travel with only the essentials. You may like the neef brush roll it not only fits your brushes and pens but can also fit your watercolors> Its rolls up and is easy to carry and doesn't feel bulky at all. Its made of soft leather and comes in three colors absolutely love mine. Thanks for your video its great to see other kits.

Always scratch the surface inside the half pan so the paint has something to adhere to and not fall out

I have a Cotman 12 set and replaced the white with a Cotman Prussian Blue. I find this easy to rewet (using a water spray) and very highly pigmented.

The thing I love the most about pen nibs is how you can apply more or less pressure to manipulate the line thickness. This is something I see a lot in the manga Dragon Ball Z my is the one thing that I think would really boost my art

I prefer putting tube paints into full pans. I tend to baby my brushes and prefer getting paint on my brush at an angle, so the extra surface area is nice

They make better travel watercolor brushes for less money. You could have gotten 7 squirrel hair travel brushes for the price of that escoda.Escada. I can always tell real artists from youtubers when out by the brushes & pens they use.

I don’t like squirrel brushes except as mops. They are too loose and floppy . I prefer the sable brushes or the good synthetic brushes. It’s personal preference about what brushes to use, what tools a person uses.

Thank you! I'm pretty clueless about watercolors. I paint in mixed media but have been slowly trying watercolors. Saw your video on adding WC to empty pans. One of those ah ha's ...never thought about that! So appreciate your simplicity in explaining how to do this. Looking forward to catching up and learning more about WC.

Remove the nib and feed at the same time. Grip top and bottom, then pull. To get the G nib to fit, use a 5/16 inch drill bit as a form, and a hammer to widen the sides of the nib, checking after a few hit to see if it fits the feed. You don't have to make it fit the drill bit, which is larger than the feed. Install the Gnib and feed as a single unit. I gave up when you started using your fingers trying to squeeze the smaller nib onto the feed.

I’ve been using these since 1998; at the time they were titled, Brush Washer Trio, and sold by Sakura. I have three older ones and just got a fresh set at the Japanese store in NYC. Best water container ever, although they do need a stable surface or a hook to hang from.
