why not put video on rear bumper or on roof facing out to side, we would see more than riding the side panels. Useless presentation

How do you know it’s time to change the gear oils? I recently bought a reconditioned 2019 petrol with now 38k. Should I change it?

I like it alot so far. I think I need to turn the rears up 1 or 2 clicks, but otherwise very surprised how balanced and pretty darn good they are out of the box on their suggested base setting. Nearly spot on.

I should rephrase it. I knew they would be good. I just always expect something on this particular car would always need extra work to be right. To be this spot on out of the box is amazing.

hello, did you install an afr gauge in any of the tercel's that you own/owned? did you remove one of the oxygen sensors or did you drilled and installed an additional bung? thanks
@garage79r4 ай бұрын
Yes and always separate (if running stock ecu). Some aftermarket gauges will allow it to replace the primary one and has a programable output that you can wire in to keep the ecu happy but I have never done that to give any assistance on that

I think most of the stuff is fine where it is, the main thing I'd do is shorten the workbench a bit down to 5 or 6ft. and then build shelves. the main problem that I had with a large workbench was id work in a small section of it, and the rest would be junk. The best way to gain space would be to install metal or wood shelving units, and stack stuff vertically. So for tires, build a tire rack that is held on by the wall (if youre allowed to drill into walls and such). Keep all of your welding stuff in one area, and spare parts in another. I found using the black 27gal storage bins from Lowes/HD work well. Also, label/organize stuff. Much easier to have dedicated bins or spots than throwing everything everywhere. And last but not least, try to clean up after every project. Finished replacing a headgasket and have tools laying around? clean/put all your tools back into your respective spot, then move on to the next project. A clean and organized shop is an efficient shop. best of luck 👍

@garage79r6 ай бұрын
I have some Poly graphite front bushings custom made from a custom batch made like 15 years ago and in the rear beam I have Siberian bushings
@jouseff_12936 ай бұрын
@@garage79r whats your opinion on siberian? are they nice?
@garage79r6 ай бұрын
@jouseff_1293 they are pretty great but they are not really a performance replacement more like a longer lasting OE style replacement...consider it OE+. On the rear beam I did not want a rigid bushing because it needs to deflect and twist a bit. My Yaris has full Siberian bushings all around and its great.

On the AWD in the class issue. I agree they will out 60ft you but I think having to turn will be the issue. Having driven AWD and RWD cars the HP isn't that much of an advantage as they don't rotate nearly as well. For our small tight courses I don't see it as a huge advantage. Now if it is raining you've got a different story. I also am not sure people are going to be building XSB AWD 500 HP cars to run locally. Nationally it is just an arms race to see who can build the most $ that fits in the rule set. Or who can take their XP car and just re-tire/re-class them. As someone in a 1996 Mazda Miata won the class by 2 seconds on 'other' tires.

My brother has a 375 whp/wtq STI. Just from being that car when it launches, or pulls in 2nd gear there is no chance I want to run against that in my Miata. I run with/against @garage79r and our courses are for the most part fairly decent sized so that power advantage would be noticeable in my novice opinion.

I had a sea foam green 92 Tercel that my grandma passed down to me when she passed away. Needless to say I was a teenage boy and it was my first manual car. It wound up straight piped and I had a huge 5” tach in it. It had a scored piston and would easily burn about a quart a week. It still got 35 mpg through all the 90 mph pulls and 1-2 no lift shifts and that was even running 15w40 shell diesel oil for the hurt piston. I miss that car.
