If you read Crowley poetry and descriptions he is pure genius I read no "evil" in his words. If you hear the accounts of his human sacrifice and other rumors or fact, it does not reflect in his writings. I have not read extensively although all his writings only The Book of LIes and The Book of Thoth. Someone wrote in the comment section below something about killing animals. It's very tragic that a man of his genius resorted to killing animals as sacrifice. Many people do that in other religions but I wonder if Crowley ever considered that goes against the "laws" of nature in that killing for ""sport" is extremely antithetical to any spiritual ascension, which he does write of so beautifully in his other books. He never expresses admiration for blood sacrifice in the books I have read or murder or destruction like this. I may not have read enough of his writings...(letters perhaps very macabre? His reputation is horrible).
