Canada in general has a very stable and growing economy. Even though there are some ups and downs with our country and it's political system that may affect it, it still remains a strong economic state to grow your wealth because the systems are there to protect you (some systems are against you in the same time mind you.) In any country you'll have struggles, entrepreneurs need to figure out the system they are in and make the best of it.

Worst thing you can do to a chimney when repairing is following this advice. You are laying new bricks with mortar that is curing at different MPa/PSI compared to the existing chimney. Freeze/thaw and expansion/contraction cycles will destroy that chimney in a fraction of the time. Do it right the first time. Rebuild it from the roof line up so it lasts 30 to 50 years instead of 5 years

I was going to say, I browse old architecture as a hobby and I consistently see bricks laid well over 200 years ago that are still in good condition despite being completely exposed to the elements. But today with "advanced" tech they crumble in a matter of decades unless they are pampered...? WTF?
