If there are Co-Executors for an Estate (sister and brother), I assume that it is satisfactory to use only one of the Co-Executor's name and address to apply for the EIN on the SS-4 form. The other Co-Executor could then be included as the Third Party Designee. Does this approach make sense to you? Thanks.

Thank you SO much for providing ACCURATE instructions for filling out the SS-4 form for executors for decedent’s estate. After a few failed attempts, I then went -by following your video instructions - I was able to finally get this form accepted and get an EIN. So much of the information on the internet on filling out this form is inaccurate. Also of note, I filed on line and was immediately given the EIN and the CP 575 form.

What are the accounts created under a case when it's opened called? How does the judge administer the estate of the PERSON? I'm curious to this. And how does a letitioner claim any of what's his as a beneficiary?

Do not want to trigger California taxes for Texas based estate given decedent was Texas based and one of the three executors is in California. Additionally, in this day and age most of us do not have a fax. How is the best way to reconcile this issue.

THANK YOU, a thousand times, THANK YOU. You'd be surprised just how difficult it is to get the proper instruction for completing this SS4 to obtain EIN for estate purposes. You can find step by step FOR THE ONLINE version, but not readily available when completing the long form SS4. As executor of my mom's estate, I was directed by the bank to open an estate account so they could issue/and I could deposit the funds from her checking account (and I assume for future IRA/annuity death benefit/distributions to my siblings/co beneficiaries, currently being authorized+processed. I Submitted online SS4 application as executor, living in Brooklyn, NY of mom's estate (she was a resident Shoreline, WASHINGTON where probate has been filed) and received ERROR 101. After speaking with live IRS agent, I was told to resubmit SS4 form, via fax on Monday. You'd think it would be straight forward, but even IRS reps gave me conflicting info re: address lines. It was unclear what to input (IF AT ANYTHING) on lines 5a/5b. I listed my Brooklyn, NY as mailing address on lines 4a/b and added KINGS COUNTY, NEW YORK on line 6. I left STREET address lines 5a/5b blank. One rep said those lines should be filled in with my now deceased mothers' home address in WA state, while another rep said, NO -- to leave those lines blank and only put in MY info/address/SSN as out of state executor... YOUR VIDEO seems to confirm that I should leave the street address lines 5a/5b BLANK and only fill in my Brooklyn, NY mailing info on lines 4a/4b and line 6. Could you also please confirm that as Executor (w no financial credentials/expertise) that as executor, I should put my name, AGAIN on line 7A "responsible party." I think you indicated, YES, and am curious about the implications of that designation for my liability ....I want to make sure I understand WHAT I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR, so I can enlist EXPERT HELP as needed. I am very much a layperson/newibie when it comes to ESTATE ADMINISTRATION...(But eager and capable) Also, your clear and concise instruction for the few additional lines required on this form, was SO VERY HELPFUL. I am hoping now I can resubmit the completed SS4, per your instruction (I don't recall if IRS told me to attach Testamentary Letter and Death Certificates to the SS4) and hopefully have this turned around quickly. IRS CS folks said I could call back (or they might contact me with a reply) within 4 business days of faxed submission I am SO relieved to have found your video. THANKS AGAIN. GREAT JOB.
