I've never had a smartphone ever and I'm so glad :) Although I did use a flip phone from 2008 to 2010. It was not bad but I really didn't need it. Because those times were a bit different. People socialized more back then. Sure we had phones but no one was glued to them 24/7

ok serious question, as someone who wants to go there in the fall- are you able to leave campus without a license or is it more of a city? how far is the beach?

yes you can leave campus easily ! the beach is about 20 minutes away from campus. there are public transit options as well to get around san diego from campus

You can go flip phone only with most tasks as a lot of the stuff on a smartphone can be duplicated on a computer including calling. Just do the social media stuff at home on the computer only.... at home. Flip phone for being out and about. That works.
