Excellent work all the way through. Hard to find grounded, truthful performances of Shakespeare monologues to show our students. Seriously, awesome work by an awesome actor!

I think it's brilliant. I cried. At times it's like a dream sequence. I love the black and white, the slowness of it, the casualness of the conversation with the British therapist, the momentary humor and close up of your dog, the beauty of the barn and landscape, your beauty, the longing, being cattle and one day wondering what was all for--and yet so ready to do everything with still so much life ahead. Reflecting back on choices while knowing that was the only path you ever could have taken because it is. The dog trailing you, that connection, the horse’s heart, the violin. How you disappear at the end like the cycle of time. But also the metaphor of the beating heart that will win- maybe not in the way society tells girls they should win, but in the way of living. It's very special.

I watched on my TV- I figured it deserved a big screen. I loved the emotional vulnerability, the overall texture of the film- it really felt like a European film- of the type that one enjoys while being pushed to think more deeply.

This is so cool! The sentiments shared in this video about being hungry to do your art, to do the thing that you’ve worked for, I really relate to. The feeling of being exchangeable and feeling like a commodity as an actor was also something I couldn’t really put into words like you did. A part that really stood out to me « I did. I really did. Is there something wrong with me? »

Glad to see all of Ms. Kinsolving's recordings -- from the mesmerizing acting to the outtakes where her charm and comedy come through. Am very drawn to the selections, from Shakespeare to some of Neil Simon's most engaging female characters, from Lost in Yonkers and Last of the Red Hot Lovers, two of my favorites. But from what play is this fascinating character, Angelina with a Russian or eastern European accent?? Could Ms. Kinsolving or someone please advise??

The Miracle Worker by William Gibson Annie Sullivan: The asylum? I grew up in such an asylum. The state almshouse. Rats, why my brother Jimmie and I used to play with the rats because we didn’t have toys. Maybe you’d like to know what Helen will find there… not on visiting days? One ward was full of the old women. Crippled, blind, most of them dying, but even if what they had was catching there was no where else to put them, so that’s where they put us. There were younger ones across the hall, prostitutes mostly, with T.B., and epileptic fits, and some of the kind who- kept after other girls, especially young ones, and some insane. Some just had the DT’s. The youngest were in another ward to have babies they didn’t want, started at 13,14. They’d leave afterwords but the babies stayed and we played with them too, though most had sores all over from diseases you’re not supposed to talk about. The first year we had 80, 70 died. The room Jimmie and I played in was the dead house where they kept the bodies until they could dig the graves. no.. no.. it made me strong, but I don’t think he needs an Helen there she’s strong enough.
