For all the altos and mezzo-sopranos out there... don't assume you can't sing this. Just because you may technically fall into one range does not mean you are not capable of singing in others. I am a mezzo-soprano myself, and I find that being confident that you can hit a note will make it more likely that you actually will.

why are altos complaining in this comment section? there are songs for altos too, why y’all coming to sing a song that puts your vocal health at risk because it’s not in your range and then complain here? i’d get it if it was a song for altos/mezzos with some high belting and you couldn’t do some notes, but this song is classical and clearly for sopranos lol
