I am running a Fendt only a lot bigger right now pulling a 1000 bu track catch wagon harvesting corn It is heaven. That transmission it fantastic, It even has cruise and the motor does it all.. You will love that machine. Are you using the simpli bale. We saw it at the farm show and know someone who is using it. It is above our means but I am sure it would enhance your production.
@SlipShodBob19 күн бұрын
If making hay was easy everyone would do it. For our situation i love our rotary rake I just wish I could justify a double one as well as the single is perfect on thick crops but doubling up on normal crops is tedious when tedding raking and baling on your own.

Disking in the same exact direction of the ripper…. Not how I’d do it.. In the valley of the PNW we use what is known as a Dixon Harrow or Heavy Harrows to flatten , level and tighten up the soil profile before planting our Grass seed crop. The Dixon will reduce the clods to nothing with two rows of teeth down on the front two bars and the rest of the bars smooth, we pull a smooth water filled roller behind that’s two feet wider to knock down any ridges.. Leaves the field flat & tight for the swathers over the three to five year crop cycle..

I like it!

This looks so nice. We just lazered as well but we keep running into a small problem. Our relativly sandier soils just dont get firm enough after a couple of passes from the lazer, they seem too fluffy for a seedbed. If any one can give advice, thanks in advance 😂
@orlandochacon925327 күн бұрын
Work your ground when it has a bit more moisture and also add a ring roller if possible.
@mikejohnson287427 күн бұрын
Discing will always make clods and turn a field into a rock garden if its too wet. You might try running a cultipacker after discing. One that has two rows (front and back) to break down the clods. We fight that here in Iowa because you're trying to plant early in the spring when the ground is wet. Then it warms up while you're working the ground, and you're drying it out the more you work it. Then you end up with clods. A cultipacker will break them down and help level the ground.
@berkoskilandscaping424727 күн бұрын
What about running one of those big rollers? Would that break down the clumps or at least squish them down into the ground?
@cfnevada27 күн бұрын
Just lasered a field that was super hard ground. Definitely took a few more passes and diesel to get it done. Field looks good!

The benefit of going to GPS that I could see is after you go down each check in circles, you could then come back a second time and travel down each check the direction that the water flows and grade out those circle humps and save a pass with using the tri-plane / land-plane if i understand how the system works. We still have the old system and now use SDI so take this for what it is worth.
@BalesHayFarmandRanch27 күн бұрын
Yeah, you could do that with GPS, I think. I’m not 100% sure. We already own the plane, so it’s easy for us to continue. We wouldn’t be burning any more or less fuel.

@@BalesHayFarmandRanch if there was a storage solution for the hay that you cover that costs a bit more than 3X what you pay now for covers, has a lifespan of about 5 years (or more), easily installed by 1-2 people in 1-2 hours (no physical labor), can be folded to a pallet and relocated easily if needed, and you can take bales out as if it was a barn (no need to take down and fold tarps), would you make that investment?
