Too close to the ceiling. If someone with a sacking ceiling follows your video they will have problem opening the cabinet door. There should be .5 to 2” of gap up there and will be covered with a deco strip. And for the sides, they sell side panels to cover those gaps.

I think you over complicated it. I’m sure if your time is worth anything you spent a lot more than the ikea rail cost.

Literally took me 2 hours to do by myself while filming. Cost a total of $20. IKEA wants $18 for their mounting rail, $29 to ship it and 5 day lead time. This is a cheap, simple and strong alternative to hanging these cabinets. If you can't drill some holes in metal and work a tape measure than definitely buy their rail.

I’m having a problem with not having a stud on the left of one cabinet, and I’m thinking of adding wood to the back of the IKEA cabinet so I can screw it into a cross bar that was installed lower than the ceiling. I’m also thinking of installing an “L” shaped bracket that will barely be visible on the bottom to make sure the cabinet doesn’t come down bringing the drywall with it.

I'm not really sure man I had a buddy that lived in Mount Airy so we used to ride Trails over there quite a bit. I haven't rode those trails in years though.
