As a Philadelphian I would have included a few more: City Hall - a magnificent palatial building that took 30 years to build and for a short time was the tallest habitable building in the world where you can go up the tower for breathtaking views; Betsy Ross House and Elfreth's Alley - the Colonial era house where supposedly the first Stars And Stripes was sewn and a block away is a narrow cobblestone street that is the oldest continuously inhabited residential street in the US; Chinatown is the third oldest and largest Chinatown in the US and a great place to admire the ornate Chinese gateway; South Street (where do all the hippies meet?) - truly one of the funkiest and grooviest streets in America; and finally Rittenhouse Square which is refreshing place to stroll among statues and elegant landscaping in this poshest part of Center City.
