Wonderful that this can be shared. Their enthusiasm is infectious and delightful. I’m so grateful for the existence of KZbin to be able to enjoy watching and listening to such relaxed performances from the other side of the world. I’m from New Zealand . I watch this often. Also Gert's Hanley U.K. performance of it. I alternate these with John Propitious own video of it. I recently found a version on You Tube Music of Propitious playing this with singing at the Bovenkerk. There are albums there of Propitius playing organ with singing. All versions are very powerful in contrasting ways.

Extraordinario, sorprendente, prodigioso INTERPRETE, pero eso: INTERPRETE, y solamente interprete.- Desde J.S.Bach, pasando por César Franck y hasta Messiaën,, de acuerdo, pero como entre en la aventura o la tentación delas acrobacias de "pirotecnia musical", habrá abusado de las dotes naturales de interprete que tiene.

Fantastic. You play all these great organs with such panache. I love it. I have some questions though Gert. How long does it take you and your able assistant to familiarise yourself with an organ and its capabilities? Are they all fundamentally the same or distinctly different? Does the composer leave you some lattitude to interpret what is written? Do you choose which stops to open or is it written in the music? Thanks for giving so generously. Your concerts should be sold out.

+Stephen Walker This improvisation on a theme of Beethoven was played at the request of one of the visitors and so it was spontaneous and without any preparation. This also applies to the treatment of the control registers. A spontaneous collaboration between organist and registrant.

+Pieter Dubbelman I've heard of "pulling out all the stops" as a metaphor and it appears to have almost happened literally here.

Cada cosa en su sitio.- La obra escrita para órgano, debe ser ejecutada en el órgano, la sinfónica por una oquuesta.- "Un lugar para cada cosa, y cada cosa en su propio lugar".- No olvidar que "Lo mejor es enemigo de lo bueno" (espero que la traducción se haga con fiel calidad).- Estas aventuras de "pirotecnia musical" no son aconsejables.- La pureza de las interpretaciones en un interprete dotado de gran técnica como es Gert van Hoef,, menoscaba su seriedad como interprete.-

so as a organist, this question is pretty simple to answer. most organ stops with the same name have the same sort of sound so registrating on organs is pretty simple to do. once you get into combinations like 8' 2' combinations to make a solo sprankle for example you need more time with the organ
