The plugs are rated for ac and dc up to 600V, however the plugs are large and open and contact with the live parts are possible, so they should only be used for ELV applications. Also mating the connectors with high dc voltages above 12V at high current will destroy the contacts.
@bjtaudio4 күн бұрын
The plugs are colour coded to represent different system voltages. The manufacturer intended that yellow is 12V red is 24V grey is 36 blue 48, there are other colours too. The plugs are also keyed to prevent different coloured plugs from mating. Most use grey sb50 for everything, as this is the only colour that most shops could be bothered stocking.

Great advice. I got a GVM upgrade on my MR Triton but that only brings the GVM up from 2900 to 3200. I have done a similar setup to yours and I was thinking I'd breeze thru on my GVM limit. Now I'm having definite 2nd thoughts. I'm going to load it up and get it weighed.
@TheBrowneTown15 күн бұрын
My car was heavier than I thought it would be when I bought it. For me if I didn't get the sound deadening or the drawer table I'd have saved a heap, but I love the drawer table and wouldn't get rid of it now.
@garysheppard402815 күн бұрын
@@TheBrowneTown I didn't do the sound deadening. Didn't even know it was a thing actually. But I got the drawers. A double on the drivers side and a single with drawer table on the passenger side. You are right. That drawer table is the best. I built them myself to fit the space exactly (going from a youtube video where a guy copies Drifta drawers). I used 12 and 15mm marine ply and they are solid as. But now I'm consider the weight. It's going to be interesting to get it weighed. Going to Tassie in February so gotta get it all OK'd before that. My build is very similar to yours so thanks for the inspiration and ideas!
@TheBrowneTown14 күн бұрын
No problems at all, let me know what it weighs when you get yours done, will be interested to know.
@lukeagex18 күн бұрын
You actually don’t need the solenoid because the winch control box contains one already. Simply wire the winch directly to the battery, a fuse isn’t needed because the winch is designed for high current. Then keep the rest of the wiring the same, with the on/off switch to power the momentary switch, and the momentary switch wired to the winch control box.
@TheBrowneTown18 күн бұрын
The solenoid is replacing the winch isolator though. This means that the active cable to the front of the car is not live until I switch it. I wanted to isolate the cable still but be able to do it from the cab without needing to pop the bonnet and turn on an isolator. My idea was to maintain the safety standards of the winch as installed to the instructions with the added simplicity of in cab controls 👍

Hey mate this one is from TLX 4X4 in Perth, otherwise you'll need to find an aluminium fabricator to make one up. Not sure where you live, should be one in all major cities at the least. They make them in a few different lengths.

@TheBrowneTown22 күн бұрын
Sorry mate but I did this at the same time as the exhaust and although the car drove better I couldn't say which was the bigger factor. Have also had a tune since then. I really don't think you'll tell the difference in a 4wd in regards to the reduced pipe expansion, maybe in a race car you could.

Hi Steve, nice work on this video. I have just installed the CC3 in my 2019 BT50. One question - did you manage to get it to connect to your Redvision system? I have the Victron BMV712 with Victron connect App and the Teyes Bluetooth wont connect to it.
@TheBrowneTown21 күн бұрын
No I didn't ever get it to connect to the Redvision system, for some reason it wouldn't recognise it as a device or something. I did try a few times without success after the initial install. I haven't tried since the initial install however as I don't use the app anyway. There may have been updates to it but I am doubtful.

Hi, is the Penrite synthetic oil recommended by Mazda? I have a 2014 Ford Ranger and I’m curious to know if I can substitute the Penrite 75-90w full synthetic in stead of the 80-90w mineral oil which is recommended by Ford ?
@TheBrowneTownАй бұрын
Mazda won't have any specific recommendations compared to Ford, the whole chassis, engine, transmission etc is all Ford up until 2019 when they changed partnership to Isuzu. I used the Penrite website to put in my make and model of car, they give you a compatibility list as I imagine most or all other oil companies will do as well but I haven't checked. If the oil company says it's ok (this being a very slight change and full synthetic considered better than mineral oils) I don't have any issues whatsoever in using what is recommended. Try other oil companies and see what they recommend as well.
@roscoe1105Ай бұрын
Thanks mate, Penrite don’t specifically recommend this synthetic oil, 75-90w or 80-140w for a Ford Ranger, however the oil description on their website leads me to think that it will be fine and also, as you mentioned, superior in a high load/temperature differential application.

100 agree, ARB and competitors should display the weights in the product page. Give us the details. We shouldn’t have to purchase it to weigh it or find someone who did it for us!
@TheBrowneTownАй бұрын
Agreed. They reel out dumb excuses as well like the paint application affecting the weight. It's not hard to say something like ~70kg added to the car (because they'd know the weight of what needs to be removed as well pretty accurately after they install them on each model of car). You could easily advertise a correct weight with a margin of 2kgs either way to allow for manufacturing or painting discrepancies.

If you’re doing the hot side it’s way easier to remove the air box and do the whole thing from the engine bay. No need to remove plates and undo crap with you’re arms above your head
@TheBrowneTown21 күн бұрын
Yes this is true, for me to do that though I had to release the clamp to the snorkel, which means removing the wheel guard to push the snorkel on one side while I redid that hose clamp. Either way would have been annoying for me with the snorkel.

Can you just take out the egr valve to clean without removing the whole intake?
@TheBrowneTownАй бұрын
You need to remove part of it to get to the EGR valve but not the air intake manifold from memory. However the biggest carbon buildup restriction is in this black plastic manifold so ideally that's what you would clean.

Very helpful thanks. I had to sand a small section of paintwork (2cm x 1cm) and then stuck the copper grounding strap on to the now bare metal area(the grounding strap has its own adhesive on there, so you can stick it straight to the metal). Whilst doing this, I phoned a local car audio installer at the same time and he noted that if you have a heated windscreen, you would need to position the antenna track adjacent to the heated elements (lines). If the antenna track is placed on the heated elements, then this can cause signal distortion apparently. So when i looked in my Ford, there is a non-heated section to the far left (and far right) of the windscreen that does not have heating elements. This non-heated section is wider at the bottom left and bottom right sections, therefore you i had to stick the DAB aerial here (this is what the car audio installer reported that he did when working on cars with heated windscreens). Hope that help someone!

Not entirely sure, I believe it would work. Check the T'eyes Australia website they should have details for what works and what doesn't. I think as long as you're outside the years i mentioned for xtr and gt then it will be plug and play.
@Timfo6824 күн бұрын
I am presently fitting CC3 2K to my 2019 UR XT BT50 which had the 7"Alpine. All seems to fit ok except for having to trim a bit of the dash structure as Steve shows in this video. Supplied Canbus box worked without any issues, did not have to set up SWC it just worked. Cables were all pretty much plug and play, the only other wiring I had to do was splice into the ACC wire for camera power and also an illumination feed for the Facia switches (Hazard and central locking) I have spliced off the A/C controls for this. Pin 16 Brown wire - PWM controlled illumination - dims with dash lights.

Hi, It is perfectly safe. When I went there the waters were as calm as you can imagine. In the video I do kayak to white beach from coconut beach, then all the way to the leaning palm tree. Getting to white beach is not too difficult unless it was super windy or there were massive swells but Port Barton is quite protected. Just check the weather forecast and you'll be fine.

I did the hot side on my 2013 Ranger today. What a bastard job. Just could not get the plastic u hose( its different than the one in your BT) after an hour of trying to get it out. Only options were to cut it in half or leave it, so installed new hose and left the u hose in place.
