capt hind sight here, It would have been easier for you to build it in halves, create a split mold from fiberglass (one from each of the sides), and then create castings with fiberglass. Now, with that said, if you dont try to do stuff in new ways, you might miss out on a great technique and alot of learning experience. I think there is a saying that goes "its only a failure if you don't learn from it". Keep experimenting, thats half the fun of it! // Claes

Very nice. You have to be a real glutton for punishment using that body filler again😄😄. For what it's worth, there are very inexpensive plastic applicators that are used to put that material on smoothly and can be easily cut to size as needed. Any body shop supply store, even on Davao, will have them at less then a USD each.

Several years ago I started to assemble this kit. I had no experience in assembling such models and this is the first model of this kind, the choice is not very good for the first model. The instructions and drawings are designed for more experienced modelers, many things are unclear and questions arise, so I want to say a big thank you for your videos, they help a lot to understand and many things became clear after watching. I was also not happy with the decals. They were not sticking very well, despite my adding white glue and varnish. I was also not happy with the colour match, especially the brown. So I peeled off the decals - they came off very easily with no damage to the surface of the wood. I will make my own decals, but will create a better colour match with the cabin's trim (a red oxide colour). I will also identify the tram that transported tourists to Niagara Falls in the 1890s. It has no resemblance to the Stuttgart tram, but I don't care!!

Nice and fair hull you built ! interesting that you glued the halves together at once, the original idea with the 2 sided construction was that it would be easier to build a straight hull when the hull could be placed side down on the building table. I haven't looked at the instructions of the renown. but several other 600 series have this type of construction.. Edit: Love Love love the brass pinning method, very clean and strong!

Question: the instruction suggests adding some "finishing pieces" (part 113) around the roof's perimeter. The part is not identified. Could this be the aluminum strip? I don't see you adding this piece in your video. Did you just smooth the edges of the roof planks and paint these edges blue?

I've been watching and learning - thanks! I have made about 8 Occre trams and the sticker problem is big. Another modeller suggested that I put a thin cost of PVA (white glue) on the bottom of the sticker and then apply the sticker to the surface underneath. The glue coating allows me to slide and reposition the sticker as needed. It also seems to provide additional adhesive power. In your case, I would agree that one side is a disaster!! Have you thought of removing the sticker altogether, and then after sanding and smoothing, just painting and trying to reproduce the same colour/effect that the sticker provided? It might actually look better than the stickers which in my opinion are too glossy anyway!
@davaoshipmodeller

I built one a few years ago, and the vac castings aren't bad. (Not good either, vac form parts aren't). I did build a cabin roof though, from left over deck plankings. The model turned out to be a great little RC-model, but keep the weight down. And low, it is a narrow hull without much stability.
