I actually influenced Garcia on this song. Hear those electronic mosquitos going in and out in the background? That was an idea I gave him at 19 when I snuck backstage and found myself alone with Garcia on a couch. He was a really nice guy but stopped tuning up and looked at me for an explanation. What did I want? he was busy working. I thought fast and went on about the mosquitos at night in Alaska sounding like an electronic orchestra. He did a double take then then grinned ide, grabbed by shoulder and exclaim in my face "FAR OUT MAN!" A peak moment I will never forget. I knew I'd given him a cool idea and he used it on this song, though it is Lesh's song mainly. Garcia was the mystical mastermind behind all Dead songs, plus the first new Riders and first Bobby Weir solo efforts.
