Mathews doesn't cover their warranty with other brands aftermarket strings. Mathews does sell pre stretch aftermarket Zebra strings. Which are a very high quality strings. All strings have a stretch in period. Only time I had trouble with factory strings is using thicker d loops. The loops won't set in. Easy fix is use thinner loop. Then where release hooks do over unders. No loop spinning, no peep twisting. It's the heavy loops twisting. It isn't the peeps twisting from the string stretching.

Mathews covers there warranty if you have aftermarket strings.

Thanks for the good review of the P2000's features. Although I'm waiting on my P2004-R to arrive, I found your review very helpful in better familiarizing me with it's capabilities. Your video should help me get up the learning curve a little faster on my first rotary vice.

Oddly, only the P2000 and the (top of the line) Master have the both the jointed shaft and adjustable head angle features. Like you, I don't use those features often but they have come in handy from time to time. I own others but the R p2000 has become my go to vise for 99% of my tying.

I agree David it’s a fantastic vise at a great price I will definitely own the special edition black Master Vise one day though!

Great review and thanks since there are very few reviews on Presentation. I currently tie with a Peak and it is a great vise but I am looking to upgrade and leaning toward the Presentation. I tie sizes 22 - 14 drys and midges, all fresh water. Why did you choose the 2000 over the 3000? Thanks Richard

Thank you! I prefer the jaw setup on the 2000 and to be honest I think it’s just a better looking vice.

Excellent review. Another nice feature comparing it to the traveler series is that the head on these is a bit more refined/corrosion resistant. Thanks

I love my Presentation 2000! Excellent review. I’ve had the traveler and this vise makes an excellent upgrade. The base and jaws alone are worth it. It also is aesthetically pleasing and makes for nice “presentation piece”.

Great review...I want the larger pedestal for the reasons you mentioned, but I also want the ability to take the vise with me on trips. Does the Presentation come with a case and do you think it would travel well?
@maineonthefly66906 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Unfortunately it does not come with a travel case but with simple hand tools can be disassembled easily for travel purposes.
@socal1146 жыл бұрын
Is the standard pedestal on the Presentation the same that comes on the Traveler? I noticed they offer a "deluxe" pedestal for the Presentation.
@maineonthefly66906 жыл бұрын
The standard pedestal on the Presentation is larger than the one on the Traveler which is why I opted for the presentation. The deluxe pedestal that Renzetti offers is slightly thicker and has an additional recessed pocket for storage.

How is the rotary function? If you set it a a certain tension does it come loose over time? I am looking at renzetti for my next vice and I want one that when I turn it at any point on the 360 axis it will stay where i leave it. Do renzetti vises do this? I appreciate the vid man cause like you said there isn't alot of info on renzetti vises.
@maineonthefly66906 жыл бұрын
Hey Cameron, The rotary function on my Renzetti works flawlessly. I have mine set so that there is moderate amount of tension which allows it to rotate easily yet remain stationary when I want it to. I haven’t had any issues with it coming loose over time but I have had it back off from me placing my hand on top of the vise and inadvertently backing it off. I purchased a Renzetti solely off of reputation and I have not been disappointed. I hope this helps to answer your question and I am glad you found the video helpful!

Everything Maine Fishing while your tying if you accidentally loosen the set screw with a fly in the vice will the hook fall out of the vice?
@maineonthefly66906 жыл бұрын
Once you lock your hook into place I don’t think you’ll have any issues at all with the jaw adjustment screw backing off. I was referring to the rotary tension screw backing off because of where I tend to rest my hand at times. I hope that answers your question!
