Thank you Alan, through the 50,s and 60,s I grew up on Walney , the island and the beaches and the the sea were where I played and bonded with this world. At 21 I left becoming a marine engineer, sailing to distant shores, never afraid of the power of the seas and ocean's but humbled by them. It never really occurred to me how I missed the beach with its winds till one night in the tropics I paused to stand in front of an engine room ventilator , I faced it with eyes shut and found the feel and the sound and smell of the salt air for moment took me back thousands of miles to those beaches, its funny but if I missed family , friends etc sometimes a moment by that vent would somehow for a moment reconnect me to them. Anyway just wanted to say thanks for bringing back that memory , travel and meeting people of so many races and seeing the differences but also what we had in common was the best lesson I ever had.
