I heard from someone else that after releasing on new distributor, to hold onto it with previous distributor for at least a couple days overlap until it's been delivered to the stores. Then once that notification comes in, to completely remove it from the previous distributor. Is this true? Or would you still recommend uploading/removing it at the same time?

I think that’s a safe way to move so I can agree with waiting a few days. The timing is difficult but you can’t go wrong with being careful.

❤😊 Hi!Thank You for the informative info on BandCamp. Wondering why its so "quiet" in the comment section here. Thought everyone interested in "BC" would be excited at a way to make more song money. Recently heard from an Instagram content creator that BandCamp was booted out....I mean bought out by Epic Records, who then apparently sold BC off to someone else. Was hoping all previous BandCamp users, Pro & Non-Pro Subscribers are still operating their business as usual no matter who's running the company show. Any thoughts?

Update - It wasn't Epic Records (that went BandCamp shopping) I mentioned earlier, but Epic Games. Seems Epic in turn sold out to SongTradr. Now I've really gotta request your thoughts on the matter. Did most everything remain the same and unchanged for BandCamp Subscribers?

Love that when I was searching for decentralized solutions for musicians you are already all over it. :-) Only thing sad I guess about Audius per this video is that USDC is not actually a decentralized currency which I wonder if that means that eventually whoever regulates it (gov?) can manipulate it? A living wage is a myth. Just because you are a musician does not mean that you deserve money. I am a musician. Just like any other job, you have to be valuable. Value is determined by the person paying the money. If the person paying the money does not pay you what you want, then you need to find someone else who will pay what you want or you need to get better at what you are trying to do. If you cannot make money playing your own music, then you do not have the right to expect other people to pay you mucho $$$ to play their music. Have you ever thought of the possibility that maybe the musician market is simply oversattrated?

These social media people got tired of paying people for going viral, so they tightened up the algorithms. Social media is pay to play now. No more free traction. It's over. TikTok and KZbin still do ok with giving traction, but it's minimal there as well. They figured out that they could charge by making people run ads, or making people stay on the App by posting 75,000 times a day, hoping to go viral (which doesnt work, i was told this personally by someone who works at TikTok). Social media is pay to play now, just like everything else in American society.

If I buy the Tunecore Publishing then I upload my song through Tunecore does that automatically register my song into publishing or do I have to manually do that in Tunecore publishing?

It does not automatically register your song with Tunecore Publishing when you release a song with Tunecore. It does start the process though. When you release a song, it will show up in your publishing dashboard. You have to go into your publishing dashboard and update some of the information like the writers and composers on the song.

CD Baby was my first distributor and it works the same way. - Request a pull down from CD Baby -- Keep your ISRC Codes - Upload the Songs to the new Distributor - Check and make sure they are being uploaded to the right profile on the streaming site.
