Watch out for nights warmer than days

I’m a horticulturist In Rome, GA in town 2021 and 22 the spring days were 75F but two nights got to 80F and ALL vegetable crops stoped growing. Did not die did not grow anymore at all. Immature fruits rotted on the plants. Look up Plant DIF ..old Hort technique to control growth and timing of floral crops in greenhouses before hormones. We would warm the houses some at night to reduce the day/night temp difference and crops would slow down and plants would be shorter. But was never equaled or reversed…not expected not in any models not a thing that could happen. Watch out for nights warmer than days…only a single night warmer and crops WILL stop growing.
