Hi, I "made" the tram tracks myself by changing certain values in the files that define the tramtracks - that's how I got to standard gauge instead of metre gauge for example. Thereafter you'd need to find which road surfaces you'd like. If you prefer not to experiment with the track definitions please be aware that there are now official TPF2 mods that do this so I suggest you have a look at the tram track mods by WernerK in the official Steam workshop. Regards and happy online modelling :)

@4:57 - Interesting...What was that long handled lever for and why was it held in place with a strap ?
@transport4616
@transport4616 2 ай бұрын
I believe it's the parking handbrake although it didn't seem to be used at Stadtbahn stations when in public service - that could explain why the strap holds it out of the way. I would image it would be used to park in the depot. Perhaps a Vienna expert can help?

Schöne Aufnahmen ! Da konnte man dem Fahrer noch bei der Arbeit zusehen. Im Anhängerwagen bin ich gerne gefahren, der legte sich ordentlich in die Kurven weil der Triebwagen schon schneller war.

At this time: "Wiener Stadtwerke Verkehrsbetriebe". Since aprx.: 1999 Wiener Stadtwerke Holding AG First/bevor, it was an institution, people knew, they can rely - as well for people to have transport as for employment. Everybody told, when you got a job there, don´t leave. Nowadays the average working-period is 1-3 years. And if you use the public transport, you have to be afraid/be aware of troubles/grousing (dirt and infection also). My time with this work was 3 years. And that was in de 90s (second half). Last year an entrepreneur told me "AG´s" (the corporate form) is mainly to make profit. To generate money for external people. The Wiener Stadtwerke Verkehrsbetriebe were determined for the people (residents and visitors alike) - to have the opportunity to be transported and to have jobs. Especially after WW2. And they made a gambling hall out of it.

Very impressive video, its not often you find old footage like this. I should point out that the tram and trolleybus network are gone since 2008 and 2010 respectively (sadly). This was because since the election of Radu Mazăre, one of the weirdest mayors that a Romanian city has ever had (to put it nicely), he believed that public transit is outdated and that cars will lead the way to civilization (which is a valid point of view... in Western Europe after WW2 and before the 1970s oil crisis). So yeah, thanks to that Constanța today has shitty Belorussian and Turkish buses. Lots could be said on this theme but i will keep it relevant to the subject of the video, which is the tram and trolleybus network. By the way, what other cities in Romania did you visit in 1986? If you have more videos from there it would be nice to see.

Hi, thank you for your interesting comments and for encouraging me to share more of my old films here. I only visited Constanta on a 1 week package so there are no other clips of Romania. The hotel at Mamaia beach was a little embarrassing when we went to its restaurant because we had a different menu to the Romanian tourists : the luxury of an apple or orange for dessert (which we discreetly gave to our waitress!).
@CFRTrainSpotter

Ah yes, my mum used to be a teenager in the 1980s and told me how she would normally have "rare fruits" for Christmas. Although sometimes she would get them outside of Christmas aswell because her grandfather was a historian who did research in Italy, so you know. Constanța being an important tourist region, of course you could find food products and all sorts of luxuries that were otherwise not accessible to others in that time period to ordinary Romanians.
