First time watching your channel. I fished out of kayak for last five years. Were you throwing that spinner bait with not trailer on it? Just the skirt and an trailer hook? Ive always wondered why we have to put a trailer on everything nowadays.
@dudefish1635
@dudefish1635 6 күн бұрын
I like to use the Booyah covert series or war eagle spinnerbaits. They both have a skirt that has a longer section in the middle so no trailer needed and you can run a trailer hook without it getting fowled up. Sometimes I will use some bait dye to dip the longer part of the skirt to change the color. You will get a lot more hook ups with that trailer hook. Thanks for watching and I appreciate the sub.

@dudefish1635
@dudefish1635 17 күн бұрын
@@raysgonefishing3271 for creeks with easy access or put in ramps I think it would be fine. A lot of the creeks and small rivers I fish are remote areas and hard to reach spots. I have a Crescent CK1 I use for those places. It’s only 60lbs and with a drag strap on the front I can put in places no one would even consider going. It’s a paddle only kayak with no motor or pedal drive. I have lots of videos of me fishing out of it. My main kayak I use now is a Bonafide PWR129 with a bow mount trolling motor 2 10” graphs and all the bells and whistles. I use it for big lakes and tournament fishing. For me having 2 kayaks for different styles of fishing is the way to go.

Looks like that spot has some good grass and foliage. I've watched a bunch of your videos. I've never seen you throw a topwater frog. Don't get me wrong, I love a good spinner bait and chatter bait. Any reason you aren't throwing a frog in those conditions?
@dudefish1635

Thanks Frank, I did have a pad crasher frog tied on and threw it for about a hour or so back in the heavy grass and pads but didn’t get a bite on it. My hookup rate on a frog is not good at all so that’s why I don’t throw it much. I do like throwing a zoom horny toad or similar bait on a big offset 5/0 hook. Works better for me. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching.
