Thanks so much, worked on my 05 VW transporter. After heavy rain 'something' caused all but my drivers door to deadlock. This has solved my passenger door which I'm now keeping off the central locking. Any ideas how to remove the deadlock on sliding door and rear doors?

Thanks for showing it!! That's why I chose a light lock, because they all can be cut easily nowadays.

My drivers side door lock has misbehaved intermittently for years (I have a late 2005, 2.5 TDi T30 LWB panel van AXD engine.) The door was becoming increasnig difficult to unlock, taking many presses of the central locking button in teh driver's door or using the key fob. I followed this video and put 12V across the wires indicated in the video at the plug that goes into the comfort unit under the driver's seat.. I locked and unlocked it a few times like this. I think it was a bit sluggish to operate for the first couple of tries, but that may have just been me not making very good contact with the wires. Since doing that, the door locks and unlocks reliably using the key fob or the central locking button in the cab. Any suggestions as to what the underlying problem might be?

For some reason this didn’t work on my T5 has anyone found another way to open the door, I’m in real trouble as I’m running out of fuel and my MOT is up so need to get it sorted for that.

Is this only for the passenger door? Or is it the same for the sliding door? My sliding door on the T5 seems to be deadlooked, and wont open from either inside or outside.

Hi, How to do this on t5.1?
@anthonymaster6160 Жыл бұрын
With the right electrical power tool (not even battery operated one) and the lock is secured to a vice, of course you can easily cut through it in seconds. Now try to do the same thing with a battery power tool out in the street. You better pray that it is not my bik*; otherwise, it would be your last da* on Earth. My SIG Sauer would be pop, pop. Bye bye.

Of course it's easy, its on your desk positioned perfectly without any distractions, with a cable grinder.. poor simulation. Cut it outside when its locked to a bike in a public place.

Before I do this, does anybody know if these wires go elsewhere or direct to the doorlock. Don't want to be applying voltages to other circuits and blowing them

Thanks for the video. It didn't work for me unfortunately. My door is locked and this didn't move the lock. Could be the servo, could be the wiring under the seat. I think removing the seat is probably easier. Ah the joys of owning a vw. I always think of the hilux that the top gear lads pulled out of the sea and it still worked! 🤣 And my old kia ceed with 500k on the clock. No issues at all! Anyway, thanks for the video! 👍

Great video. If I cut the same colour wires, can I just open and door lock manually? Or will there be an error code? My problem is intermittent, and when door is locked and actuator not working I cannot open even from inside.

@TomekMysko2 жыл бұрын

HUGE thanks for this info, worked perfectly to release the deadlock on my apssenger door. Info: I used 12v from a spare car battery and some speaker wire. I had to keep the wires connected for about 1.5 seconds before the deadlock relaesed.
@ian9toes Жыл бұрын
So what was the actual problem preventing from working normally?
@PhilWilkins_uk Жыл бұрын
@@ian9toes I assume voltage drop in the existing wiring that goes to the passenger door deadlock. The deadlock can engage at say, 10v but that isn't enough for it to disengage, hence the problem. I haven't bothered to investigate, as simply leaving the module unplugged is good enough for me, as this disables the central locking. But I can still use the key :)
@MrDoyley352 жыл бұрын
What voltage used? I assume 12v?
