I am thinking of replacing just the rubber bushings on my rear swaybar ... can't seem to find a correct model part though ... I also measured 16mm which throws me into P3 territory and my make is 2002 ... Any ideas on how it should look like exactly? Also is it easy to replace bushings only?

My mechanic here at Mavis in Lancaster PA replaced my sway bars on my 05 XC70 without removing anything. Took him under an hr to replace them. But then again he is a foreign car specialist.

I read somewhere Volvo doesn't recommend jacking on that bar in the rear. curious if any problems have popped up

Not sure if you figured it out now or if you still have the car but to get out of valet mode just unlock the trunk manually with the key.

They are actually pretty tough cars if serviced and maintained. I have had two here in Cape Town. One actually did a surf trip too the traskei about 1500 kms up the coast on awful roads and except for one puncture it behaved rather well. Enjoy her!

The ground clarence is low that looks stupid at this point and that defeats the whole purpuse of it being a cross country within its self. Moving on the wheels look terrible and weird please sell this car or give it away to someone who would appricate it for its original purpose.

With the coil overs did you end up having to lower from stock height and did you have to change the control arms and cv to V70? I found a pair of coilovers specifically for the XC70 that keep stock ride height. I’m wondering because I’d like to keep the height because I would like to keep the turning radius of the XC compared to the v70 but also get rid of the floaty feeling.

My dad bought a 1997 Jaguar XJ6 white 142K miles with mushroom tan leather interior for $400! He bought it in 4-2018 and was the last year of the XJ6 4.0 Inline 6 cylinder version. In 1998-2003 they discontinued the 6 and brought out the 4.0-4.2 V8 XJ8 & XJR Supercharged. Before 1998 the XJR was also available in the 6 cylinder supercharged version as well.

Finally someone that knows how to drop the engine in a solid package. Too bad you didn't get into the small bits that need to come off in order for the engine to come down without hanging up.

Man cant wait to see your finished build! you should upload some more vids. Would love to see an XC with the "spaceball"!! haha. I daily an 03 xc70, has about 118k kilometers on it, which is around 70k miles I think - Barely even broken in yet, looking forward to doing some mods. love your wheels btw! good taste!

That car is meant to be driven in the winter :D absolutely great machine in snow. One important thing. In your other video you didn't change the engine rear support. Please fix it, if your engine supports are not in equal condition you may tilt your engine little bit. Yes for real. Front will be higher than the rear and that will potentially mess your drive shaft. And in the XC70 series the drive shaft is bit delicate thing. It's not uncommon that the driveshaft needs to be fixed in every 100k. And that's whit normal driving.
