👍Oh yeah! Sweet rides. I’ve been at MECUM a couple times in INDY. Crazy money being spent. When I say crazy I mean crazy because I’ve seen mediocre 78 Fords MAYBE worth $10k (if that) go for $18k to $25k. Hype & booze helped out I guess. Good times.
@BuckleUpGarageEst2024Ай бұрын
@majorpayne5289 i go to both pretty regularly, just as a spectator. I agree, booze does help. But if you go on week days there are some deals, but you have to know what to look for.

sad its in there rotting away
@BuckleUpGarageEst2024Ай бұрын
@williamlovely450 i agree. But nothing there is for sale. The owner considers it a walk thru museum now. It just enforces the need to buy and save stuff in yards like this that DO still sell before the EPA and local politics force owners out and start crushing. It's happened to many of them.

Why do people do this i understand the whole thing on using cars too help with the flow over river water like they do in Illinois but this is just no point.
@BuckleUpGarageEst20242 ай бұрын
OCC was a functioning salvage yard for decades. Sometime in the 80's the family decided to turn it into a museum, of sorts, to preserve it. Honestly, alot of yards like it end up being pressured into shutting down. They scramble for awhile to sell off whatever they can and end up being forced to crush what's left. Dean has saved them in a way. Lesson to learn is, find yards like this that ARE selling and buy up what you can now!
