The maggots are actually not so much a problem. They are sometimes used as medicine in order to clean a wound as they consume dead flesh. Still, a serious overall problem nonetheless

Those maggots maybe saved that persons limb or life. They ate all the necrotic tissue that would have otherwise spread.
