It would be nice to use all tesla chargers and not just the v3 ones.

All EV owners, including Tesla owners like me, need to agree to and follow polite charging etiquette. And if not followed, expect to be confronted and spoken to without threats of violence. We all need to help each other out until the entire system gets more robust. Here are some basic rules: 1. Make a laminated placard (costs about $3) that can placed inside or outside of your vehicle that is easily seen with your phone number so that others can contact you should they need to charge as well. This is more relevant when using a Level 2 charger at a hotel or other destination. I saw this years ago and it really helped me on a trip so I started to do it and have helped others to share a charger during a visit at the location. 2. Only charge to 80% when others are waiting to charge. Tesla may already enforce this automatically through their system, but if not, the driver should do it voluntarily. If a Bolt or Tesla vehicle has reached a state of charge (SOC) of 86% and another car suddenly is now waiting, unplug and open up the spot. It would be rare to have to charge beyond 80% to make it to the next DC fast charger these days during your roadtrip. And yes, stopping more frequently for shorter periods each charging session does save you time if you are keeping the SOC in the optimal range. Check out the "Out of Spec" channel for detailed advice on this. 3. Do not cut the line of vehicles waiting to charge. Pay attention and use common sense to identify where vehicles are waiting to charge. If it is hard to determine, get out of car and ask others about the queue status. I have had to do this at different superchargers while traveling. Some times their is a obvious line and other times people are sitting in their cars in nearby parking spaces and appear to be waiting. 4. Hang around your vehicle as much as possible during your charging session. If you need to grab food or use the bathroom, do it immediately after plugging in your vehicle. Doing some sort of extended errand or having a long meal while plugged is rude to other drivers. Plus, it could cost you money by being charged idle fees. 5. Remain polite and calm. I am tried to witnessing crazy shouting matches between adults at Superchargers.

Fast charging a battery of any kind is never a great idea.

did you have to upgrade software at the dealer first ?

This is terrible for the rest of us. Tesla owners will now have to endure the scourge of slow charging Bolts clogging chargers that we had endure when using CCS charging stations. It was awful. 3 or 4 or more bolts slowing charging to 100% while other ev owners waiting in line to charge with some of the Bolt owners not even it their cars.

Good video. I hope Bolts would mostly charge at or very near their max rate for the majority of the charging curve. Is that Tesla site on Hgwy 54 or off Morrow Industrial?

The way you're showing how to plug it in and disconnect is actually how they spell it out in the proposed UL2252 specs. You connect the adapter to the CCS vehicle port first, make sure it's latched, then plug in the Tesla/NACS cord 2nd. And reverse procedure to disconnect.

I just got a new one of those today, they've fixed the tolerances now, so it fits very snug and securely, but it unplugs very easily as long as you press in the unlock lever fully. At first they were too loose and sloppy, so they overcorrected with the tolerances for a little while, but now they've got it dialed in. Very happy with mine so far.

The adapters will also be useful for public stations when they go to J3400 connectors if driving a CCS1 vehicle. @Mikesele70 the adapter connects to the Tesla connector then plugs into the vehicle. For Rivian drivers as long as your payment method is up to date in the Rivian app thats tied to your vehicle you can roll up to any Tesla V3 NACS location and plugin and start charging. If your vehicle is on the current update the navigation can show you nearby Tesla V3/NACS superchargers, make sure you enable the Tesla filter when searching for chargers.

Yes sir! I appreciate your video. I’ve been looking for a video for this problem. It randomly popped up in my google news feed 😊. I had the same 20 minutes trying to disconnect but I didn’t keep it plugged in the charge port. The second time was easier but it sill took some effort to remove the cable but it was at least a minute or so. Also it’s important to know that for Ford Lighting’s the software must be updated to use the superchargers. Also there are superchargers that are allowed to use the nacs adapter so look for approve supercharger stations in the Tesla or ford pro app

Since raspistill, raspivid series tools are removed by BULLSEYS, you need to use gstreamer tool to replace raspistill, raspivid etc.
