1) civilian EMT basic is 4 months same as AIT (EMT portion) because at some point the army accepted the national standard .. hence the NREMT certificate you get from AIT will be same on the civilian side allowing you work anywhere (even overseas contracting). I highly suggest you get your states EMT card as well if u want to work in your state for accessibility. It’s easy to get and no additional training is needed if your NREMT IS STILL ACTIVE I have 4 state cards just because lol 2) the levels are EMT Basic .. Advance EMT (old EMT - Intermediate) .. then Paramedic I highly recommend any person concerning going 68W get your NREMT certification (EMT basic course) prior to enlisting because you will be able to come into the army as a E-4 Specialist and skip the EMT phase of AIT, only have to do Whiskey phase. And throw in an option 4 (airborne) or option 40 (ranger) on your contract if u want to be a ranger medic

Thanks, this is great information

This is exactly what I’m going to do, I scored a 67 on the ASVAB yesterday and I already have my NREMT. I didn’t know about the perks of becoming an E4 but I’m glad I do now all I was told is AIT would be 9 wks instead of 16. Thank you for this information. I’m set to leave for basic training September 15th! 🙏🏾

Which Paramedic course did you attend and graduate The one at fort liberty ? did u see any benefit of getting the new identifier for Paramedic level 68Ws? How do you feel about the SFC rank not doing the tasks or keeping up with medicine as the 68W component SGM has said? What are you and your peers doing to keep up medically, especially now that your jr 68W is coming out knowing blood transfusions and getting into that EMT-A kinda level

A fellow combat soldier-YEAH !!! LOL. I did 4 deployments to go fight in Iraq ( I volunteered for all 4 tours, also did 2 tours back-to-back ) with the Texas Guard. My first tour was in late 2004 and all of 2005 at Camp TQ with an infantry unit ( yes,I was a door-kicker-LOL ) at this time Iraq was the most dangerous place on Earth-EASILY. LOL. TQ was also a Marine FOB then and we did joint missions with the Marines,we did QRF,route-clearance,combat patrols,ECPs,searching vehicles too. During those 4 tours I arrested/detained countless Iraqee citizens and insurgents, did countless raids on homes/apts. I was bored working 2 full time civilian jobs and needed a dangerous challenge,so,off I went to Iraq. LOL. SEMPER-FI

@@souljatalkthepodcast8373 I had a-BLAST !!! LOL.After Iraq tours,I 10 plus yrs as a civilian contracter-overseas ( Iraq,Kuwaitt,Afghanistan & Qatar ) as a mercenary, then logistics. Been back in the states for almost 2 yrs now and I'm-PLENTY-bored. LOL. Didn't even plan on returning to the States at all, but, the US military got orders to leave Afghanistan,so,we contracters had to bounce too. Now I'm working at my local VA hospitol as an x-ray tech ( boring !!! ) America hasn't changed much in 10 yrs, just the same ole BS as usual, but, people have gotten so-SOFT-and easily offended. Civilian jobs are filled with HR complaints, mostly from women. The males at my job are pretty lazy too,complain-WAY-too much. LOL. And they-SIMP-too much for females attention at work.

Very straightforward and I liked it. Based off his story I felt like I can see the progression. The focus and discipline is there. The thing is not everyone is as straightforward any more. 17:17 I think I get where you going. People may not care about your track record but it still matters. Reliability is an example. I filed an IG complaint for multiple AR 635-8 violations, which I never out-processed nor had a retirement ceremony. The IG issued a separation DD214 that had to be revoked, then issued an incorrect retirement DD214, 3 months later without extending orders affording me to outprocess and complete TAP. Allowing Bridaged to get away with not having to take accountability.

Desert storm combat medic here. The Vietnam era was 91B, not sure when it changed. I joined January 1989, it was 91A10 from E1 thru E4. 91B20 E5 and up. At E4p you had to go back to Fort Sam for what we called " bee school". Back then they always kept promising to incorporate " emt". The only special requirement was a GT of 105.

Sorry to disagree with you but the aid we have sent to Ukraine has nothing to do with inflation. We're sending approximately 3% of the Defense Department budget. Last year that budget was $900 Billion. Rather send them money and equipment, than troops.
