There's an art island you must check out. The ferry boat is free. I walked around and picked up souveniers from this retail store called Kwantum. The same island no reservations went to...great time there!!!

You should check out Spang Makandra, it’s right next to Albert Cuyp market and also Birds near the Red Light District, it’s Thai food. Also try some local Indonesian food, highly recommendable.

With a different culture then the rest of the country. Because it is in the province of Friesland. Which is where the frisian people come from they speak Dutch but also have their own language Fries. I was in the Air Force for twenty years and traveled a lot. I spent about eight years out of the United States, mostly in the Netherlands, England, Italy and Guam. I was able to see that part of the world with a thirty day temporary duty assignment to Panama and Bolivia. I have been out since 1993, but I still have that strong desire to live outside the country. This sounds like a nice place to move to permanently.
