This is a truly valuable video. I've had a challenging month and a half after naively assuming that I had landed my dream job in interior design. Initially, I was hired as a CAD drafter and modeler. However, just two weeks into the job, they informed me that they needed someone to manage clients, handle client communication, and take care of sourcing. Subsequently, they proposed to decrease my pay, after "realizing" that I was unfamiliar with these specific tasks due to my limited experience in the field. This was in spite of the fact that they had initially hired me as a drafter/modeler. After nearly two months of negotiations, I now find myself jobless - this was a contract-to-hire position - and I'm frustrated that this happened to me. The silver lining, however, is that I have learned how to navigate my future career path more effectively. Moving forward, I will ensure that I have a crystal clear understanding of the role and its requirements before accepting any job offer.
