What’s wrong with those barbers you showed at first those are good bobbers for shallow water fishing.. talk about the spring bobbers that damage your line 100% well wouldn’t those first bobbers you showed be better?? I wish you would’ve talked more about the weight you talked about putting on a split shot sinker talk about cutting the line those do, and after a while they slide down the line,,,,, i’m looking for a better way or a better weight to use other than split shots… I enjoyed the video!

It's just one of the greatest feelings EVER...thump...
Are you able to catch the same amount of quantity and quality of fish without the fish finder ?
@ExtremeAnglerTV6 күн бұрын
It is hardly ever turned on, only on new lakes that I have not fished before to safely navigate to the locations I want to explore and fish.

That’s the beauty of this type of fishing. The electronics don’t play much of a role. It’s you and the fish. Love it
@theastuteangler6 күн бұрын
Shallow-water fishing is all you vs the fish. I have some good sized bass, pike, and walleye all from shore-fishing with no electronics. Timing seasonal bites is very important, and doing homework on which lakes and rivers have big fish to begin with.

It’s been mid 80’s all week….when the weather gets like this night fishing is how I catch crappie from the bank. Why is it they come much closer to shore during the night anyway? Love the channel by the way man, always learning!

Lots of bait fish in shallows is usually the best bet. They usually rise out of the weeds at dusk and put on a serious feed where we fish. Thanks for watching.

In your opinion what is the best time of day to crappie fish? Sunrise/early morning, mid day or evening/sunset?
@ExtremeAnglerTV14 күн бұрын
Mid day to evening sunset is my all-time fav times to fish for crappie. A.M.'s can be good if conditions dictate/ sunny, warm but overall, the mid day bite either by float fishing, casting baits or single pole are favs.
@wayne-oo14 күн бұрын
Are you using fluorocarbon leaders or does braid work alone ?
@ExtremeAnglerTV14 күн бұрын
I do not use braid when float fishing, either monofilament or fluorocarbon 4-6 lb test on most occasions.

It really matters where you are at , I fish two lakes that are actually connected by a pipeline. Colors that work in one , won’t get looked at in the other, same with sizes and body styles . Both are good crappie lakes .. one is stained to muddy the other is usually slightly stained to gin clear .

Do you think color of the bait can determine size of fish eating your jig?
@ExtremeAnglerTV15 күн бұрын
I personally think bait size determines the size of crappie depending on where you are fishing, yes bait colour can inspire bites but when they are aggressive, 'up-sizing' your bait choice can certainly inspire bites from bigger crappie.

@tonyknott378915 күн бұрын
Key word there aggressive, when they are, I don't think size or color really matter, at that time I prefer to choose color based on water clarity and what type of food source in the water I'm fishing
@extremeanglertelevision989915 күн бұрын
@@tonyknott3789 when they are hot I use hot colours and the brighter the better especially in crystal clear water conditions we fish across Ontario.
@tonyknott378915 күн бұрын
Here in west central Ohio, water clarity is usually stained and various levels, occasionally muddy, and rarely clear, clear water is usually a few weeks b4 ice comes on and then same at ice off, so my colors are on a large array of the color wheel,lol

Hello Karl , some nice crappies your catching out there , how many feet of fluorocarbon line do you use from your main line

Thanks , for replying Josh , helps me out alot , I'm trying to learn how to fish with jigs and been watching Karl's videos trying to learn the techniques of fishing with jigs , what size jigs heads do you guys usually fish with
@ExtremeAnglerTV24 күн бұрын
Usually depends on how I am fishing for crappie, with jig poles in very clear water I will go with straight Fluorocarbon, 6 lb, in off colour conditions or deeper water, I will use 8 lb braid by Gamma Fishing to a leader approx 24" in length of fluoro; when casting small baits ( plastics) usually it is what Joshua said, between 4-6 feet, thanks for watching.
@miguelestrada954924 күн бұрын

It does at times, but jerking the rod tip to free the bait also provokes crappie to bite
