I recently acquired a 68 T120R, found it tucked way back in the corner of a barn, where it had sat since 1980, still had the keys hanging in the switch, its in pretty bad shape but it's still in original condition and all there, only shows 7 thousand and some change on the clock, my plan is to bring it back to its original glory, to the super bike it once was, I'm told by many the 68 was the opitumy triumph of the bonneville line, I know I love it and it has found a better and 4ever home,

Add 100 millilitres or so of ZX1 extralube (other products are available) with engine oil to make it quicker, smoother, quieter and more economical (about 10 % more miles per gallon). Great stuff. Magnificent motorbike. Pat the Hat.
@roadrunner2757

Not particularly. Even without additives the engine is smooth. You only need correct engine oil

ZX1 is a substance that's more slippery than oil. It chemically bonds at high temperature to moving metal parts, reducing friction.

engine probably the best of the brit bikes. frame a bit slim. result best straight line performance, a little shaky in a fast corner. they never had enough development money, so the japs rolled over them.

The frame is definitely 1970. The front brake is the lethal 1968 model. Bitsa? Beautiful bike though.

Beautiful !! A little puzzled about the frame though...looks like a 1970 ( two bolts front engine mount) ?? Best wishes. Dave . New Zealand.

Yes well spotted, it is a later frame as there is no number on it and the location for the number has not been messed with, it still has the little Triumph logos intact. From what I have learned when a frame was replaced from the factory it was up to the dealer to stamp the numbers on to the frame but I could be corrected on that. On the plus side it make getting the engine out and putting it back in a lot easier.

Now THAT one sounds sweet. Not sure about all the dodgy switchgear though. Give it some welly, ffs. In the early noughties I used to thrash my UK '67 along the M40 at 100+ mph. Believe me, it felt like 150. Then stuff started happening: the Lucas rotor began to move relative to its core and thus started chewing away at the crankshaft keyway; the third gear dogs in the gearbox had rounded (not me, guv) which then knackered the camplate. The final ignominy came in August 2003, the hottest day in the history of the universe, when the big ends squealed and started knocking. All fixable if you have the money and know a specialist. T120 DU61759 will live to fight another day.

Almost certainly my dad would have ridden a machine like that, of that age, and possibly on those roads. A Worcester born lad, growing up in Kidderminster, and hanging around kiddy, bridgenorth and Bewdley. Thank you for the video 😊
