It's funny hearing these stories. As a flatlander at the time, these boys hated on us so hard, even though we were doing the same thing... riding two wheels, trying to progress, doing what we love

I think Apex park was 95, I remember thrashing a Celica around the berms the night before they dumped the dirt for the jumps.

I'll never forget Grants 21st. It was memorable for many reasons, it went for two days. On Sunday, around the back of some old stone sheds on the farm was a set of doubles that very few people back then could grasp. Grant gathered everybody together to see him jump. There was probably 30 of us loose hung over units and about the same amount of family, Granny's grandpas, aunties uncles and all the farm neighbours. We were standing around chatting and waiting for Grant. We were there for ages waiting. A car full of people pulled up. In the back seat, there was two teenage girls from Japan. They had literally just got off a plane from Japan two hours ago, then got loaded in a car and driven out to the Australian bush to a crowd of complete strangers standing next to two piles of dirt behind a shed. It was explained to us they were exchange students that were going to stay in Auburn. As we are dealing with introductions and the language barrier, incomes Grant! Pedalling as hard as he could at the doubles wearing a Superman cape! He hit the doubles and pulls out a huge Superman seat grab, the crowd went wild. I'd seen it before so I was watching the astonishment, shock and disbelief on the faces of these two girls. It was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Talk about pulling teeth, what a mind numbing interview! Imagine this guy trying to vote! Ummmmmm … I know for a fact that his GF at the time bankrolled all of his trips, supplied all the cars and funded the datsun rebuild during his “hay day” adventures. The metal fabrication business was her baby, he just tagged along on her coat tails, and took all of the equipment when she woke up and left the degenerate. Self taught Pffft! She made him learn to weld. How is he not embarrassed? No thanks to her, or any women…Seriously?

Respect🤙💪 Absolute legend Zoli. I've been watching with interest as your content clips started hitting FB a year or so back. I was one of those riding from the mid 90's in the Blackwood area and beyond, also attending those dirt jump contests you put on at Dingley Dell, Hawthorndene and elsewhere. These were formative years and are important to all of us who lived it. Nobody has documented and catalogued these years like you Zoli, both back then with your legendary VHS and now with your present endeavours. I wish you well on this journey and thank you for your passion to the riding crew and that era! Pc ✌️

The order was Ross Richter first in backflips , the second flip came when Jesse Carlson convinced Daniel beard to try one when Ross had gone to the bakery. When he returned , Daniel did a back flip and then Jesse after the secret practice session , Ross was shocked. This was onto dolomite at the Victor harbor tabletop , no soft landing. Hope that helps -
