I thought the statewide rent control exemption was for properties built less than 15 years ago? The first ADU might be exempt but are the other units built in 1988 exempt also?

Anthony, Yes you are right about the ADU having NO rent control with the state for 15 years, and the other two units will fall under statewide rent control. However, the other two units will have NO rent control locally with the City of Los Angeles because it was built after 1979.
