Not as easy as it looks when done on real tendon. Should require good assistance as well when done with full length of suture 😊
@MedSyncVT19 күн бұрын
@vikha2182. Very true! I find the biggest challenge is not the repair. It's the access , finding the tendon ends and repairing it between pulleys. But if trainees get good at doing the different techniques for repair, it's one less challenge ! Thank you for your experience, great to share

Whats this type called? Knoted interrupted ..???
@MedSyncVT20 күн бұрын
It's just a technique to hold the tension on your knot on a gaping wound to prevent it opening before you tue your second knot
Outstanding presentation, both due to content as well as how the field of view shows the incidental handling of the instruments. Bravo.

Nice! Keep in mind when using continuous suture, one must be extremely careful about bacterial contamination! Any bacteria contaminating ANY part of the suture will grow along the suture as if it is a highway. In doing so it will also expand to the tissue that surrounds it. Dr. T MD, MS
@MedSyncVTАй бұрын
Indeed a good point. Even if interrupted though infection will lead you to take out all the sutures. think more commonly the issue is if 1 part of the suture comes undone the whole thing unravels. It's a good suture for speed and is haemostatic for non specific skin edge bleeding

Which is better modified kessler or cruciate suture
@MedSyncVTАй бұрын
I prefer the kessler between the two, I think they are very similar , may be slightly quicker would be my experience. More of a difference between adelaide and kessler/cruciate
