@@DJChi_BoccheDiLupo Seems to be a thing in most industries that things are thought out and we'll made earlier on and then the supposedly improved next generations aren't as good and are made to break more easily! To be honest I used my sb2 lots more than the 3 so durability isn't a fair test from me!

That does sound strange if it's the exact same set up each time! The more people I speak to about this issue the more confused I get about what could help to fix it. I'm going back to gramophones and 8 track cassette!!!

To be fair I don't think the controller makes even the slightest difference. I think it's all down to the operating system and the version of serato and the laptop. Seems certain combinations of those 3 together just don't work. Also seems to me anything older than a couple of years now and the companies just don't support anymore and let them die so you always have to pay to be up to date. I'm getting sick of it all!!

@@Beatniktv someone told me years ago the best time to buy a computer is tomorrow! I think this weekend I’ll use my newer more powerful laptop for ceremony and since I’m off the following weekend look for a better backup computer. Thanks for the response.

@@jmoak311 I wouldn't say don't try it but I tried all those things and absolutely nothing helped me. I just had to wait for the update and then everything worked again. This is purely anecdotal experience though so it may very help solve your issues......I just am very sceptical now as a human being 😂😂😂

@@Beatniktv It’s crazy that I can’t really even have a backup laptop I basically have to go to apple and buy 2 lol. I’m looking at Back Market first for refurbished Mac’s.

I think they are quite similar in many ways. I think the biggest difference is the software they are made to run with. I think, if I'm not mistaken, the SB3 is more for serato and the DDJ400 comes with rekordbox. I've never used rekordbox professionally but I think it might be free whereas serato costs money, however I could be wrong about that!

I've come across lots of problems in my time but never this one. I'm presuming the pitch isn't pushed to the top level etc? I hope someone has a good answer for you??

@@leehindmarch8718 it's always good to know that to DJ now we have to take 17 laptops, 56 hardrives, starlink WiFi and spotify's servers just in case something goes wrong when.......playing a bit of audio. How has it come to this!!

@@leehindmarch8718 I just did a very quick search and someone suggested it might be the bit rate of the music. I'm not sure that's the issue but thought I would mention it anyway!!

It's really hard trying to trouble shoot from afar? All I can think is to ask if it works perfectly before you go live? If so then it probably some issue in the computer or serato software rather than the controller itself. Perhaps your RAM or CPU aren't enough? Or perhaps opening the love streaming software causes some sort of conflict?

@Beatnik I literally just went live again last night I turned the latency down in to the middle played for hour and 30 minutes it didn't freeze on me once I'm hoping that' was the problem gonna go live again later and see. respect for replying 👊🏼

@@DazTv2k oh wicked!! Let's hope that fixes it. So many bugs and issues always, depending on operating system and processors. Really glad it's working, nothing gives me a bigger heart attack than performing Infront of a crowd and everything dropping out or my laptop crashing!!! Adds ten years to my life each time!!!

Yeah once I was about to start DJing to 10k people at a festival and the decks didn't work so I shouted to the sound tech and he just looked at me and said "I do guitars" and walked off. The crowd started booing me so I jumped off stage, grabbed some decks and mixer from backstage and had my own back up cables in my bag. I plugged everything in at record speed and it all worked and off I went and the crowd stopped booing. I always tell people that story when I teach them how to DJ and say most the DJ sets I ever play on are broken in one way or another and you'd better know how to line check and fix problems before you ever play out to crowds as in most clubs and venues there's no one there to help!

I'm not totally sure what this setup is. All I do know is that bad quality sound is 90% usually down to the cables being bad! What setup and decks are you using??

@@Beatniktv For the Cable i am using an RCA Oehlbach wich is one of the best in Germany. I first thought the problem was the Buffer size . Once the Deck 2 is Empty the sound Quality is Cristal Clear

@@djmaster1110 it's so difficult to try and troubleshoot from afar especially as I am not familiar with the specifics of your set up. I do remember sometimes there being calibration issues and giving me bad sound too. I hope you manage to solve it and please let me know how, when you do!

I agree entirely. I always joke that we've been plucking a string for hundreds of years now so let's have a new musical revolution! I will still argue to the death that vinyl isn't better quality though as I've done extensive testing myself on many club systems. I believe it's supposed to be about 12bit sound so CDs and MP3's are still better.

To be honest I don't use the effects and things that much and that's the major upgrade I think, along with the new button layout. I will say the sb2 was my favourite controller ever so I was perfectly happy with it and probably wouldn't change if it hadn't started to break!

As you can see from the video the only solution I ever found was updating the OS and that meant getting an entirely new computer as the laptop in the video was basically too old to run the new OS version that serato was supporting. I hate the way this is now standard practise. My very expensive rane mixer is now totally obselete and just has to be thrown on the junk pile along with my SL box that worked perfectly too. I can barely DJ now without rebuying thousands of pounds worth of the same equipment every few years. My 1210s however are perfect still over 20 years later and never even needed a service!!

@@azzmomootr oh amazing! It's an official remix so I think Ninja Tunes would block it and take it down as it's happened to me so many times before. Thankfully I can have it up on my own channel but even that was a bit of a negotiation at the time! Had so many official remixes taken down and blocked when staff and owners of record labels change it drives me mad. Need better contracts!!

Been working non stop since the pandemic just to try and claw back a bit of the lost cash so not uploaded in ages! Thanks for the comment, could be really helpful for some people. I found out in the end there were conflicts between drivers and OS so there was nothing that could be done except wait for serato to update. Very annoying if you are trying to work but as with everything now it seems the answer is buy a new MacBook every year 😭😭😭😭😭😭

I hope this will not be the case because I have other friends DJs that use MacBook from way earlier than 2015 and they never experienced that. Let’s see how it goes on my next gig

@@PietroCRF fingers crossed mate! I just couldn't spent any more time trying to fix it. Since then worse things have happened like all my mixers being made obselete and making thousands of pounds worth of kit into very expensive door stops! Fingers crossed it all goes better for you!

We were there only about 4 days but it was spectacular and one of the most memorable places I've been on the planet. The drive was absolutely fantastic across the entire coast and state, a total pleasure. Can't remember exactly how long it was from there to Monterey been far too long since then! Really hope you enjoy it and maybe watch my next videos from that trip as there's other great things we did!!

@danms0 I am going to try this with my PC laptop. I love Serato but every set I do has at least a couple drop outs. I record my sets on my desktop normally so I am excited to try this out!

@@Schoolforthesoul That worked for a while for me, but then the glitches started to appear again. I got to the point of changing my computer for a newer one (not even faster, newer) and guess what, no more glitches. In my case, my old computer was having electronic problems in the USB ports. (MacBook pro 2015). Now I'm using a MacBook air 2015, is an old computer but in mint condition. No more problems with Serato, Saludos!

Not that I've noticed. I never like to hear the mix panned between both. Half the times these days with queue points and watching the waves I can mix before I even listen to the track in the headphones 😂😂😂. The main thing I dont like is the change of the pitch control postion from the SB2 as I preferred that. Now they are like 1210s in battle style which I thought I might prefer but actually don't! As I do a lot of hip hop and DJ at a really fast pace and doing a million things I rarely have time to listen to a mix before doing it. Maybe if I'm doing a house set or dnb but just never even bothered. Could be good if you don't have a monitor speaker but by then I can usually barely hear the headphones as it probably means it's a bad soundsystem in a bad club......but then aren't they all! 😂😂😂😂

I'm a straight to the point kind of guy. I failed to get the I guess. I happen to like vinyl buy also compact discs. I buy only vintage records primarily from the 60"s and 70's. when most vinyl was of good quality. This new 180 gram stuff is way over priced and not a good value for the price. There are pops and clicks the same as there has always been. Compact discs deliver better sound quality and reasonably priced. I usually buy used discs in very good condition. A few light scratches have no effect on playback. Put it In in a new jewel case and you'll know the difference. Sorry I could get from your video. That happens sometimes. You may no be at all interested in what I wrote here. I'm just a Texas country boy.

@@deanwhite4190 if you'd listened to the video you'd know I had 10,000 pieces of vinyl and nearly as many CDs and they were like an albatross around my neck and I got rid of them all! Such a cathartic feeling after having paid rent for them for years and carted them around the country breaking my back. I loved vinyl so much but it soon turned into a literally and metaphorical weight on my life. Also I couldn't deal with the environmental damage and the ethical issues. But anyway, its better explained in the 3 part video series! 😂😂😂😂

@@Beatniktv I have more compact discs then I'll ever get around to playing. I thought that I wanted them at the time but I don't play them. Last time I counted I had 400 or more. I go to the can't decide which one to play and can't decide, except for The Beatles "Magical Mystery Tour" . I don't know why I love that one so much. It is considered by many to many to be a great album. Even the Beatles themselves. Even John Lennon who hated many of their songs. I can easily see how thousands of records would feel like a dead weight. And yet you don't want to part with a single one of them. Not any thing that can be understood.

@@deanwhite4190 exactly that! I had tonnes of plastic sitting on my house and not a single thing was played as, due to my job and convenience, I just used digital everything. Especially for sampling, DJing and music production. It's far better as a tool to manipulate than vinyl or CDs especially using the 12" serato control vinyls as then you get the best of all worlds! I will agree though, that is a great album but pretty much everything the Beatles ever did was magnificent!! I hope you get to playing all the CDs and they do t just sit gathering dust on a shelf or weight in your conscience, like they did with me. I dont like the world wasting resources to create the item for it to just sit doing nothing .......what's the point!

Glad he managed to fix it. I love digital so much but I do miss the simplicity of just plugging in an RCA and that's it!
