Here's a funny, true story told to me firsthand, many decades ago, by an actress/friend starring in this movie with Robert Mitchum. After shooting for the day, they were out seeing the sights of Japan and Mitchum had a taste for 'Peking Duck'. (Never mind, that this dish is Chinese and they're in Japan.) Upon entering a restaurant, Robert and guests would specifically ask if 'Peking Duck' was on the menu? The staff lied and said, 'yes', apparently to keep these Hollywood Stars at their business. Later on, the owner & staff came by asking for autographs on their menus. Robert wrote "Where's the fucking duck?" multiple times to lying fans that couldn't read English.

Seriously? He is not in the country Hall of Fame? He needs to be. He is in the country Hall of Fame for me. I am 51 years old and I grew up with this guy. He practically taught me how to sing and play country music. And I never met him
